US Immigration from Canada

I apologize as this has undoubtedly already been discussed, but I couldn't find any recent discussions. Nor could I find any information on the USCIS website.

Do they still let you file for citizenship N-400 90 days before the technical eligibility date?

My Greencard has an issue date of 1-31-2019. Way back when I started my immigration process I remember reading that you could file for citizenship 90 days prior to the 3 year mark (this is a family based green card/spousal).

Is that still the case? According to my calculations, if that is true I can file online on Nov 2nd. Though I would probably do it a few days later just in case it gets rejected.

Hey guys,

I filed an expedite request on July 28. My fianc is an active duty member of the military, and I saw a few others get approval for this. Now I m not sure whether or not my request gets approved, but I figured I d give it a shot.

However, it s now been 6 weeks since the request and tomorrow is the 30th business day. What are my next steps if I don t hear anything back by Friday morning? Will calling the NVC help? Send an another email that will go the bottom of the pile?

I appreciate any help.

My understanding is that SSA actually gives you a new social security card. So it s not just update of citizenship on their records.

I assume that my old SSN card is still valid since it s got no restrictions on it and the new one can be a spare.

Me and my wife are starting the process of getting her down to the states and have a few questions.

We started filling out form I-130 and it seems to us that it is required for me (sponsor) to be living in the states to start this process. Is this true?

We've read elsewhere that you can file if your living abroad still but that you need to file an affidavit saying we intend to move back but we do not see that as an option anywhere on the form.

Its asking us for an address of where we intend to live when we move but we do not have one due to us living in Canada still.

Its also asking us for my wife's "class of admission" which she doesn't have because she doesn't have a PR card yet.

Is there a separate form for applicants that both live abroad?
