US Immigration from Canada

Hi all,

I filed my i-751 in November and received my extension letter in the mail extending the expiration date of my green card until 2025.

My physical card expires on 02/08 of this year. I got laid off from my job this week. I am not terribly familiar with the public charge policy USCIS has, but I am wondering if anyone out there has any experience with filing for UI benefits during this weird interim period where you green card is expired but you have a USCIS extension? I have read that UI benefits are also not included in the public charge policy and that immigrant applications are not penalized for enrolling in UI benefits.

Any experience, insight or advice is super appreciated!

Hello everyone, I am an Indian citizen who recently got married and got my marriage-based conditional greencard. I have a long first name (with space) and a long last name which causes problems when my employer runs an everify check. It's really embarrasing to repeat myself twice whenever someone asks for my name. Hence, I have decided to change my name through the county court. Here are a few questions regarding name change after GC:

1) Will the i90 extension letter have my new legal name?
2) If yes, can I use the extension letter along with the court docs to change my name on my SSN and DL? Will it verify through SAVE?
3) Also, will this cause any issues during removal of conditions?

My spouse electronically submitted an I-130 for me back in March last year.

I ve traveled to USA for holidays but I rather just stay until I receive my green card.

I believe I have to do an adjustment of status as I have a b2 visa.

Is this the case?

Is there anything else I should do?

I hope all of you are doing well. My situation is the following situation. I was born in Cuba, I have been living in Canada for more than 16 years, I have been a Canadian citizen since I was a teen I left Cuba when I was 8 years old I have a citizenship Canadian/Cuban. I have been visiting the USA many times more than 15+ times. I have family in the USA /Florida. Recently I have been wanting to move to the USA. As a Cuban I qualify to apply for the DV Lottery. My question is the following I drop out of high school in grade 11 for personal reasons many years ago. Now I'm almost completing my college education diploma (2 years) I got into college because I completed the mature student entrance test and I got an offer from the college.

I have the following questions :

1- Do I qualify to apply for the DV lottery even tho I didn't complete high school only with my College diploma?

2- Any other way I can migrate to the USA as a Cuban or Canadian?

Hi all,

I m eligible to apply for citizenship under the 3 year rule. However, the online application history asks about trips outside of the US for the last 5 years. How do I answer this? Five years is technically not applicable since I didn t have legal PR status until the date I entered on my spousal GC.

I don t want to fudge up the application and get the dreaded RFE for a poorly worded question.
