DV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?

    Confused about steps after marriage
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!

Divorce from non-immigrant (out of status) and financial responbsibility
I go to court next month for another hearing... The judge previously said the "Plaintiff was financially obligated to support [my ex] while she resided in the United States." What does that mean?

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!

Applying for B2 visa while married to U.S. citizen

My husband's cousin in India is (also) married to a U.S. citizen. She and her USC husband have not yet applied for a green card for her through the IR1/CR1 process (honestly not sure what they're waiting for, but that's not my issue here). The cousin wants to come to the U.S. to visit her husband. I've read online there's not any strict rule against granting a B2 tourist visa to a foreign citizen who is married to a U.S. citizen. I had planned to tell this cousin that she could apply for the B2 to visit the U.S., but should be fully upfront about her marriage and plan to provide as much evidence as possible that she won't overstay the visa (and to be clear, she is fully intending to return to India at the end of her visit). FWIW, she has a long-term stable job with a well-known multinational company, as well as a lease of her own in India, so I think she has some good objective evidence that she will return to India after a visit on a B2.

But as I search online, I'm not finding many instances of people in similar situations (still living abroad but married to a USC and applying for a B2 visa) successfully being granted a B2 visa. I don't want to tell my husband's cousin that it could be possible to get a B2 if, perhaps, in practice the odds are extremely low.

Do others know of examples of people successfully getting a B2 in a situation like this? Thanks for any input.

    I-134 DEPENDENTS

    Hello,

I am currently filling the I-134 and my fiance is filling her DS-160. We have a newborn who is born in Brazil and has his passports approved at the US consulate but have no received the passport due to recent floods in the Porto Alegre.

    Questions:

    1. Should our son be listed as a dependent under her DS-160 and in i-134 beneficiary's income's "Total Number of Dependents" section? I am putting no income or asset for her.
    2. Or should our son be list as a dependent under my "petitioners" income?
    3. Under Part 3 of I-134 Assets, do I have to list every asset such as 401k, taxable accounts, online high yield accounts and etc, or is my employer income information is enough? My employer income is higher than the US poverty income limit.

    Thanks in advance!

    Jon

Hi, any knowledge would be appreciated. We are filling in the affidavit of support with my partner agreeing to financially support me (the beneficiary). I am confused with filling in the below part. For income I will just write $0 as I am leaving my job and will not be working there? And for Asset's for anyone who has filled it in, do we just put our checking account balance for example ? And then attach anything to show the money is there or there or does it not really matter very much?

Thank you for any help with this

    Hello,

I got my Green card through Employment based category two years ago in Montreal US Consulate(Consular Processing). My spouse and kids were marked as follow to join on my DS-260 when I got my green card. They are now ready to come to US and I am wondering how I should initiate the Follow-To-Join process? I tried emailing Montreal US consulate but no luck so far. I would appreciate if anyone knew how to start the process. Thank you!

I intend to apply for US citizenship. I'm a permanent resident here since October 2020. I visited my home country for 7 months from 29th February until September 30th, 2023 i.e. more than 7 months. I would like to know as to when am I eligible to apply? Whether I needed to prove reasons as to why I was outside the USA for more than 6 months?

Applied  online for the N-400 on 5/20/24 for the Detroit office. Received an online notice that we would  not need new Bio. Then received a letter on 5/24 saying they received our application and another letter on 5/28 that we didn't need to do the Bio.  Based on what I see on here it's taking 2 to 3 months to get an interview in Detroit. Hope that hold true.

      WHAT TO DO .
Our case was created on May 8 and now showing up as “ready” at the Taiwan consulate since May 23.
The correct embassy is TIA instead of TAI (Tirana instead of Taiwan).
What are we supposed to do?!!!!
      Many thanks!
And good luck to everyone on their journy  to be together with their loved ones 🙏
