Community SpotlightDV Lottery of K1 Visa - Can I file for both?
Petrisaint Mpaka posted a topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Process & Procedures,
I applied for the DV lottery 2025 and hope to be selected this year. My fiancé and I discovered that there is a fiancé visa for the USA. Do you think if we apply for the K1 visa but are selected for the DV lottery that we can stop the fiancé visa process? What are the timelines and options here :)?-

Confused about steps after marriage
SP1988 posted a topic in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas,
My fiancee arrived last month on K1 fiance visa and we got married yesterday. It seems from what I have seen online that I made a mistake by not getting SSN prior to marriage? I am going to the SSN office on Monday to gather more information... also worried about employment authorization and travel authorization(s). Thanks for any insights!-

Tourist visa cancelled by CBP agent. Can we still get a CR1 or K1 Visa?
yotajeeper posted a topic in What Visa Do I Need - Family Based Immigration,
Upon my gf's most recent arrival, her tourist visa was cancelled at the airport due to her frequent visits last year and suspicion of working here. She was denied entry and sent back same day. Is a CR1 or K1 visa process an option still? I would appreciate any advice or tips you can provide!-

6 RepliesI have received a letter in the mail for my oath ceremony date and it states I need to bring all my current and expired green cards. I have my old employment authorization card and current green card but I appear to have lost or misplaces the 3 years green card I had a while ago. That card expired back in 2018, if I remember correctly and I can t file a form for a lost green card that is no longer valid.
Has anyone else run into this issue and how big of a problem will this be?

1 RepliesHi!
My mom wants to visit me and bring my sister with her. For context, my sister is a 33y/o woman with cerebral palsy. We are not sure how the visa process would work because my sister has severe cognitive impairment since birth, so... she can't communicate at all. When I've tried to google this, nothing really comes up, so I'm wondering if any of you had any experience on this?
Thank you
FYI I'll definitely consult with experts but looking for first-hand experiences

2 RepliesWas very surprised and worried to have received the jury duty summons despite being a green card holder going through removal of conditions. After doing some research on the internet looks like it's a common thing and seems like they use the data base of driver license and state ID holders and presumably that's how it happened? Planning to call the court and let them know of the mistake and do the online questionnaire and tick "not a citizen". Anything else that should be done or checked, anyone with personal experience? The state is Michigan,if there is any specific guidelines to state. Thank you

3 RepliesMy mother-in-law completed her interview and her medical. They said she needed to get a COVID Booster, but was required to wait ONE MONTH after she completed her medical. She waited a month, emailed them results. When she called to check on the status, they told her that it could take up to 10 days for them to get through the emails because they get "so many a day."
She waited the 10 days and then they told her it can take up to 14 day. It has been almost 2 months. Every time she calls she is either placed on hold or no one answers. We sent emails for an update - no response. If it takes 2 months for them to get the email to verify she took the booster, how long will it take them to send over the results to the Embassy????????

7 RepliesHi everyone!
I hope you can help me out.
I was told through the case tracker app that my case is ready at the German consulate and I went ahead and filed the DS-160 and tried to schedule an appointment for my visa interview. After paying I had to wait until I got a confirmation number. After a couple of days I didn t receive any email so I just tried checking the website again and suddenly there the number was and I could go ahead. Then I was given a notification that my request for an appointment was sent and I d receive a message. I haven t gotten any messages yet and I was wondering if this happened to you as well?! after a few days I could continue on the ustraveldocs website and there I could choose between some options (but only if I had gotten a message from the consulate) now I m wondering if the ready status in the app is the message or if the consulate will literally send me a message? I thought I could just make an appointment after paying or did I miss a step?! I m having my medical scheduled for tomorrow so I m packing everything I have since I don t have a interview letter yet (I read that it works without it as well)
Thanks in advance!
