Hi guys, I filed I-130 US citizen, for my dad online, in my birth certificate we have the same last name translated in English but in passport one letter is different letter y in mine and I in dad s passport because it was translated in other country different. I was citizen in different country s than country I was born, before I came to US and my name also has 1 letter different than in my birth certificate, do I need to upload statement to explain that? Thanks

My step son has been approved for his green card. The problem is he never received it. UCSIS mailed it to my attorneys P.O. box inside a ups store. Somehow it got lost in there. It was 2 months ago. Only now we found out because my attorney recently made an inquiry to uscis and they gave her a usps tracking number. I says it was delivered to her p.o. box.

Im on my own now to file a form I-90. I would like to ask what is the best reason for my case . Is it question #2.a. or #2.b. Reason for Application Section A.

Hello, I am a USC petitioner for my husband and stepson (separate I-130s, submitted at same time). NVC shows the AOS fee as 'Paid' for both after I paid it once in my husband's nvc case. We are only trying to complete NVC stage for my husband, as we are postponing my stepsons case for now. So wanting two different timelines of completion here for my husband and stepson

Questions :

1. Can I use I-864EZ for my husband even though on his i-130 I noted I have also filed for my stepson? Or should I do the standard i-864? I have paid husbands IV fees as well.
2. Is it okay to only submit the i-864 for my husband now and delay my stepson s case by a year? I have read that as long as I periodically check in with nvc, it will remain open. We did not pay the IV fees for my stepson yet

My Mother-In-Law in the Philippines got denied in her B2 visa interview.

Those who had relatives with B2 denial, how long did they wait to apply again for successful approval? In other words, if they got approval the second time, how long did they wait to re-apply? Or how many times did they get denied before finally approval, and how long was the overall process?

How did they fill out the DS-160 differently for the subsequent times? Thanks!

Has anyone here successfully applied for Form N-648 (medical certification for disability exceptions) without an attorney? We were quoted $5,000 $7,000 by an attorney, which is quite expensive for our family.

If you ve gone through this process, could you please share:

• How long it took from submission and payment until approval and interview scheduling? Or how long does the whole process take?

• Whether you felt an attorney was truly necessary?

• Will she need to be in the US all the time for this process?

A little background:

My mom currently holds a 10-year green card. She is living in Vietnam now but plans to return to the U.S. in April. She is 61 years old.

Medically, she suffers from insomnia, sleep apnea, depression, and anxiety. Her depression began after my father tragically committed suicide several years ago. In Vietnam, she has been treated by multiple doctors, formally diagnosed, and prescribed medication. However, she has never been formally diagnosed with depression in the U.S.

We are considering pursuing the N-648 medical waiver so she can eventually become a U.S. citizen. That said, she does not truly want to live permanently in the U.S. at this time she does not drive and does not speak English well. I am her only daughter in the U.S. My brother and his family still live in Vietnam, and she has much stronger ties there.

Our main concern is her immigration status. With the current climate, we worry that she could be considered to have abandoned her green card due to extended stays abroad. A tourist visa feels risky and offers no health insurance coverage, which is especially concerning given her medical conditions.

Our hope is to maintain her lawful status so she can travel back and forth, visit me and her grandchildren, and have access to health insurance and potential senior benefits if she eventually decides to live in the U.S. In the longer term (perhaps in 10 years), my brother s family may immigrate through an I-130, and she may then choose to relocate permanently.

If anyone has experience with N-648, similar medical situations, or navigating this without an attorney, I would deeply appreciate your guidance and support.
