Hello all,

My husband had his I-r1 Visa interview today at the US Embassy in Cairo. His visa was refused based on 212(a)(4) which prohibits the issuance of a visa to anyone likely to become a public charge.

Is this a final refusal or are we able to submit stronger evidence for the Embassy to look at again?

What did the consulate officer mark on the documents?  Normally, you would be able to get a joint sponsor.  Did you still use the joint sponsor who had not filed taxes?

The exact wording of what was checked on the notice matters for any meaningful answer. Also explain what forms and income etc. were provided to overcome the public charge concern.
