In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

• She's a stunningly beautiful woman — especially for politics, a.k.a. "show business for ugly people."  From her beauty queen hair to her immaculate makeup to her lithe figure, not too many 54-year-old women look like she does.  If you didn't know any better and were told Noem was an ex-supermodel, you'd probably believe it.

Not necessarily full agreement; just wanting reasonable investigations.  Some of her explanations certainly warranted questions on their face.  If ultimately she was wrong, then she was wrong.

At times, you could be forgiven for having thought that Kristi Noem wanted to be a uniformed Department of Homeland Security officer rather than the secretary of the department.


Now, the cabinet member most inclined to glamour shots out in the field is going to have to go back to wearing civilian clothes.


For all his trademark firings during "The Apprentice" and the rapid turnover of his first term, President Trump has been loath to oust top officials this time around.


Noem is the exception, and she's earned the dubious distinction.


Incompetent and preposterously self-promoting, Noem took a serious role and made it like something out of the HBO political spoof "Veep."
