I had my N400 interview yesterday at the Dallas service center. The officer mentioned he did not have my removal of condition file but we proceeded with the N400. After successfully passing the N400, he handed me a form marked decision cannot be made now and explained it was because he had to approve the I-751 but he assured he was going to approve both. Both status are still the same, is it normal?

Thanks!

Normal until the I-751 is transferred to him.  Question (for my personal research):  Did you request a combo interview at any time before the N-400 interview?

Yes I told him my wife was in the car park but he said there was no need for the combo interview. He said he was going to approve it, I’m guessing it’s because we had the first interview in 2020. After the interview he said congratulations but then said he can’t congratulate me until he approves the I-751 but he was going to take care of both. He was really nice

He also said he did not have my file for the I-751 but knew someone that could help him with it.

But You did not request a combo before the day of the interview...correct?

Our officer at Dallas was also pretty nice.  Maybe you'll take the oath in Plano soon.

No I didn’t, I saw your sample letter after I submitted the N400. Yes, it was the easiest process and felt more like a conversation. I hope so, I’m ready to finish lol

OK.  Thanks.  I have a theory that requesting a combo interview ahead of time might prompt the officer who is going to do the N-400 to get the I-751 file.......just a theory.  I was notified only 2 days prior to the N-400 interview that it would be a combo.

Did she try entering the building with you?

Yes she did, but the security did not allow her inside. He told her to wait in the car and they will inform her if the officer needs her. I told him we have a pending removal of conditions but he was a little rude. She waited in the car for over 2 hours. I went in with a big folder but the officer did not request any documents.

When we arrived, the security guard asked if we had received an email instructing me to be there. I said yes....and the rest is history...

You are probably on to something. Thank you by the way, your comments have been helpful all through my process. I have definitely used your advice in the past!

At @Crazy Cat how do you go about requesting a combo interview? I am in the early waiting part for my i751 removal of conditions (sent Nov 2023) but considering moving forward with filling N400 online.
