My husband (from Canada) has been here for about a year now in the states. USCIS did a RFE on the I-485 because they needed his birth certificate. We have an attorney and he’s been wonderful on helping us. He said the RFE response has been filed on and that was on December 28, 2023. I looked online at our case status and it says that they received my response on January 4, 2024 and began working on it. It’s now March 5, 2024 and we have yet to hear back from USCIS on form I-485. It worries me that it’s taking this long. Most people say they hear back within 60 days or less but it’s now been 2 months.

If they received the response, nothing to do except wait it out.

Also married to a Canadian and doing AOS. We filed ours in Feb 2023. Responded to RFE in April 2023 and nothing since on the 485.

Almost a whole year that you guys been waiting on this?! Oh my goodness. That’s such a long wait and that can cause some anxiety for some. I wish they can give out more updates. Especially for those who are waiting a long time!

Was your RFE response sent to the Lee’s Summit MO location?

Seems like that is the location where most RFEs are sent, so they are most likely inundated.

Received I485 RFE on Feb 14 and responded Feb 19 - received Feb 21
