This is easily the largest oath ceremony I’ve witnessed.. congrats to everyone who will be swearing in today. Waiting for the ceremony to start (it was scheduled to start at noon but people are still being seated).

Hello all, my husband had his at the Plano event center at 7:30 am.  There were about 800 naturalized from 90 different countries.  Then we spent the rest of the day updating his drivers license (which was quick) then applied for his US Passport.  He wasn’t thinking about applying for his passport at first, so we weren’t prepared.


But next, after he gets his naturalization certificate back from the State Department, he will update the SSA and then work on mom’s visa.  Phew!  What a day!  It’s time for a nap, but it sure is nice to have our timeline completely filled.  Our four year anniversary was on the 16th, so this timing was pretty nice.  I hope the backlog gets cleared out of Dallas forever!

hey, i'd like to tag along with you....

I got approved in El paso in october and unfortunately i moved to this blackhole called Dallas. long story short, I was supposed to be sworn in el paso yesterday but because i did the right thing to report my move, my file got transfered to dallas and now i am waiting for new oath date. As of yesterday, it says "Oath ceremony will be scheduled" so I guess I'm back in line for oath ceremony to be scheduled. What does your current case status show?

 

Btw: I went to infopass and used a senator to get my case going else I am sure they'll prolly slack on it.

And during my info pass, there was a naturalization going on. I am told Dallas office does same day oath ceremony after interview. I wonder what special considerations they have for such people. The ceremony I witnessed was so easy, done right next to the security check point like no big deal. why did they not jus swear u in??

please what was the venue for the oath ceremony and how many people got sworn in with you? jus wondering if it was a large crowd

Depending on the officer's level of clearance to approve ... most cases same day if no any further issues and maybe a day or two

Ok yeah he recommended me for approval but had to turn it to his supervisor for final decision so hopefully will not take them long ......thank you for clearing me up a little I'm just a bit nervous I just want to be done with this.

Got scheduled for Dec 16th while we’re out of the country. It says we must return the notice and notify in writing why we cannot attend the ceremony. 
 

Does anyone have experience rescheduling their ceremony and, if so, does it have to actually be MAILED?

What field office? Is it Dallas? When was your interview?

Pls answer my question. But to answer your question, you MUST mail the notice back to them, address it to the field office director and state the reason why you cant attend. It's not a big deal, just tell them you have a planned trip already. Keep it simple. They will give u another date. Yes you must mail it back to them or you can drive to the office and submit it in their drop box by the security check point
