Hello,

I was wondering if the 90 days to get married once my fiancé enters the US also has to be within the 6 months of the medical report or visa?

Basically if it is 6 months+90 days or just getting married within 6 months.

There are just some things needed to be done first for anyone wondering.

Thanks for the help!

Well given that the visa is only valid for the duration of the medical exam (could be less than 6 months), I'd think of it as arrival to the US on a valid visa + 85 days - you really don't want to leave it to the 90th day to get married.

You have 6 months from the time of the medical to enter the US. Once you enter, you have 90 days to marry.

Not quite.  Beneficiary must enter the US on or before the visa expiry date, which is 6 months (maximum) from the date of the visa medical.  Could be less than 6 months.

Once the beneficiary enters the US with K1 visa, the expiry date on the visa will be irrelevant.  Wedding must be within 90 days of US entry.

Six months from:  the date of the medical exam; the date of approval of the I-129F form; or the date when the consular officer approves the K1 fiance visa?

Could some one clarify?

It supposed to be the from the date of the medical exam. As others have mentioned, it can be less than 6 months from the medical though. It has happened many many times that is was much less than the normal 6 month. It is why they are saying to check the date on the visa. The CO could have given less time.

The clock to get married starts ticking when your fiance enters the US.

Where is your fiance now?
