It’s been 70 days since my case was approved but I have not yet received my NVC welcome letter. I have made inquiries to the NVC, but nothing yet. Anyone know how long it’s taking and if it will affect anything since the approval notice is only valid for a certain amount of time?

It’s taking anywhere from 60-90 days, possibly over 90 days.

NVC does not send welcome letters to K1 applicants. You will have to contact them to get your case number to see it’s status on CEAC.

Actually they did send me a physical letter. I already knew my case number before then though through inquiries as you said

Unless it’s the K1 FTP letter which is standard and is not a welcome letter, then that is a very rare exception that is almost unheard of.

So I was able to get my Case number emailed to me, but in order to make an account, it’s also asking for an invoice number? Do you guys happen to know how I can get this number and why I haven’t received the packet yet either?!

Received my case number through an email after requesting it, but when I try to log in, it asks for an invoice number too. Has anyone had this problem too?  NVC emailed me and said they forwarded my paperwork to the embassy already last week but I haven’t received anything by mail.

for k1 you do not create an account, you only check the status of the case with case number from nvc

There's no invoice number for a K-1 visa. Select nonimmigrant visa, not immigrant visa.

When I use this site to check, I get an error if I choose non-immigrant.
I get my status correctly when I use immigrant.

Select nonimmigrant visa, not immigrant visa

on the contrary, you need to choose an immigrant visa to check the status
