Global Warming Delayed, Who Could Have Guessed?

Plants will absorb 20 per cent more carbon dioxide than predicted by the end of the century, a new study has found, suggesting climate models are overestimating how fast the planet will warm.

 

Trinity College Dublin said its research painted an “uncharacteristically upbeat picture for the planet” after finding models had failed to take into account all the elements of photosynthesis.

 

During photosynthesis, green plants use light energy from the sun to convert carbon dioxide, water and minerals into the sugars they need for growth.

 

Scientists thought climate change could weaken the process, but the new research suggests plants can adjust to the temperatures, efficiently absorbing carbon dioxide, producing extra nutrients, and continuing to thrive.

I love the double standards the climate change/global warming acolytes use.  If a warm weather event occurs it's all global warming and manmade climate change, when a winter weather event occurs it's all 'you cannot equate climate change by a weather event'.  What a joke, but the sad thing is some people listen to them.

Amusingly they cannot agree on where to hold the next one, apparently they need somewhere that can host 70,000 activists. Plus allow them to do their protesting.

 

I have a feeling that it will become something like the Commonwealth Games, costs a fortune to host and nobody will want to do it.

 

From a practical perspective I do not see how it can be hosted by a western country without it becoming a show,

Green Groups Are No Longer Promoting a Cleaner Environment

 

Green groups are supposed to be about keeping our rivers, lakes and streams clean. They are supposed to be about fighting litter and keeping toxic chemicals out of the air. Their job is to maintain the beauty of our national parks and save elephants and tigers. 

 

Not anymore. The New York Times recently reported in a disturbing headline: "Environmental Groups Cut Programs as Funding Shifts to Climate Change."

 

In other words, the Left's climate change hysteria and its campaign to end fossil fuels is interfering with a commonsense green agenda. Worse than that, the climate agenda is in some ways making the condition of the environment worse. 

 

According to the Times story: "A significant shift in donor contributions to nonprofits fighting climate change in recent years has left some of the nation's biggest environmental organizations facing critical shortfalls in programs on toxic chemicals, radioactive contamination and wildlife protection."

 

The Natural Resources Defense Council, "the Sierra Club, Defenders of Wildlife and the Environmental Working Group, which have been at the forefront of efforts to clean up waste water, regulate pesticides and adopt tougher standards for atomic power plants, are facing similar financial problems," said Times reporter Ralph Vartabedian.
