They are a really great law firm and we’ve worked with wonderful paralegals there, but information changes very often, so i don’t want to pass this along as if it’s absolute truth. But hopefully this helps!

Thank you! Ugh. I thought I had everything in order and then I realized that we didn't submit the 2022 tax return as we submitted our stuff in March before they were required and he was still collecting the docs. I'm nervous as hell now.

If you have 2022 tax documents now, I would upload them, and I would take them to the interview.  Consulate officers sometimes want them uploaded after the interview.  Uploading them now might prevent a delay.

We don't have it JUST yet. My husband has his notice of extension so we will upload that for now. We should have it back by our interview on August 8. I'll upload as soon as we get it!

Okay updates!!! My husband was approved for his green card this morning!! We’re so happy and literally couldn’t have made it without this community so thank you everyone. 
 

I uploaded my new I-864 and all my 2022 tax documents (federal tax return and all my W2s and 1099s) to the CEAC website last night in a panic and my husband had all of these documents printed to bring in to the interview. When he got to the booth where they ask for documents, they asked for his birth certificate, police certificates, and my W2. He asked if they also needed my I-864 and the office said no, she could see my I-864 in the system, but wanted to see the W2. I’m not sure what that indicates since I had uploaded everything, but maybe she was just saying that to verify? Not sure. But he provided my W2 and all was good. 
 

For reference, we were DQd Jan 27th and got our IL April 13th.

 

His status still just says “Appointment”, but when the office told my husband he was approved, he said the system was down, but he would approve him later this afternoon. I hope that doesn’t mean there will be a delay in getting his passport back, but we’ll see.

Hi guys, I have an interview coming up, I have a question when we submit documents during interview does the embassy officer ask for additional documents or directly sends 221 g if something is off.

 

my birth certificate is from a state which only offers online copy so in short I dont have “original” birth certificate, I did get online copy notarized from country I was born in. My question is should I submit online version and notarized copy together or should I wait for them to request notarized copy if needed.

 

For affidavit of support documents Also should I only provide them with tax transcript for last year and provide paystubs only if they request or should I give everything together even if they dont ask?

 

I am a little nervous for interview sorry if my questions sound naive.

I was also approved on Monday! If I remember correctly, the only documents they asked for were my passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate, police certificates, one photo, and my wife's and joint sponsor's I-864's. Since I was DQ'ed Feb. 1st, I had only uploaded tax documents from 2021, and I hadn't uploaded anything at all since being DQ'ed. I had 2022 tax documents with me, but they never asked for them.

 

At the second window, he only asked fairly basic questions such as: How long have you been married? Is this the first and only marriage for both of you? Are you both living in Canada? How long has your wife been living in Canada? How many children do you have? Which countries have you travelled to in the last five years? Who is your joint sponsor? What does he do for a living? Why move to the US now? What is your occupation? He said the application all looked good, and he would approve it right away. He said processing time was 2 - 3 weeks and gave me a paper explaining how to track my package. I was only at that window maybe 10 minutes.

 

I waited in line outside about 50 minutes, got inside about 40 minutes after my appointment time, and was in the office about an hour and a half.

 

Now today I received an email stating that my passport had been shipped! I chose to have it shipped to our house since we are so far from their pick-up points. And now the tracking shows estimated delivery tomorrow.

I don't know if this is going to be a problem but I went to print out the I-94 (travel history to the US) and realized that my latest trip I took to California is not noted on there. Is that going to cause a problem? I'm not sure how that happened seeing as I went through customs. Would this be because I used my Nexus on not my passport? They are connected so you'd think it would show. 

 

Is it even necessary to bring the I-94 with you to the interview?

This is super common, when I applied for a student visa my dad pulled mine and it was missing multiple trips for sports, visiting grandparents, etc. There were even cases where they had me entering the country and never leaving until I reentered months later.

Just to add on to this, I94 is not required 

I had my interview yesterday and they asked me if I have gone to states and I told them a lot of times lol, the next question was what was my longest visit to states. So don’t worry abt it too much
