  1. I kind of lucked out. The person who usually does car imports was not in office so someone was filling in and doing it for the first time. I did not even pay an import tax but filled out all the forms and was on my way. Sorry I’m not more helpful!
  2. Entered last night via the 1000 Island land border. I was able to get my visa stamped and car imported in about 45 minutes and everyone was very friendly. I know there is a “Moving to the US from Canada” checklist floating around, could someone link it here?
  3. Yes to HepA/B and for Covid you need to have at least two vaccinations. Purolator has picked up my passport and my estimated delivery date is tomorrow! So about 24 hours from issued to passport shipped.
  4. I checked the delivery site and no action yet. Did you get an email notice from the visa delivery service when it was shipped ?
  5. You’re not going to believe this… just checked our status. Visa issued, god bless.
  6. Yeah it most definitely was not something we concealed or tried to hide! The person infront of me at the same window also got a 221g (white). But yes hoping the passport being kept is a good sign.
  7. 221g (White) which we kind of figured might happen. I worked unauthorized on my student visa at 2 summer jobs, this is why we engaged an attorney and verified that unauthorized work was forgiven for the spouse of US citizens. I was honest about it and disclosed it in my work history. The CO kept my passport and said she wanted to approve my visa but she needed to confirm I didn’t have any ineligibilities. The whole process was quite quick and I was in and out in about an hour! Now we wait some more but feel relieved.
  8. @HaeZee @llcoolwil Arrived at 7:30, already a line of a dozen people by the time I was there. I had in fact been switched to 11:30 despite what my original appointment letter said. Back at the hotel to kill a few hours! keep you posted
  9. This is so valuable… do you mind sharing your land crossing?
  10. My attorney said to still go at the original time, I’ll keep you all updated. These last 48 hours have been tough, very anxious/nervous!
  11. I just got an updated interview time as well, my interview date is August 23rd @7:45 but just received an email that my interview time has been changed to 11:30? Never seen this before…
  12. Here’s my original post and someone loops in the 1000 Island situation.
  13. A few people have asked this before, myself included. There should not be an issue but there was 1 story about a lady who crossed at 1000 Island and the border officer was very frustrated that she was just crossing for her stamp and returning, so much so that they didn’t stamp her visa which I do not believe is legally allowed. My attorney has told me to try and get stamped as soon as you receive the visa so I will be doing what you plan to do also. I’ll let others chime in.
  14. Oh forgot I have passport photos! Yeah I’m trying to go with the over prepared, I’ve known my wife since we were 16 but you never know. thanks!
  15. Hi All, interview for is coming up this Wednesday and I wanted to ask the group if I missed anything in my physical evidence: -NVC Letter -Petitioner’s birth certificate and copy -Copy of petitioner’s passport -W2 and Tax Return of petitioner (2022, 2021, and 2020) -W2 and Tax Return of joint sponsor (2022, 2021 and 2020) -Marriage certificate and copy -Applicants birth certificate and copy -Applicant police report and copy -Lease with both names -Internet bill with both names -20+ photos of the both of us over a 3 year time period. -Applicants 3 previous F1 visas (2012-2018) I was thinking about printing of my flight itineraries as I travel 1-2 a month to visit my wife. Anything I missed or should add?
  16. That is great news, you could be set by the weekend!
  17. Very happy for you!!! Do you mind tagging me when you receive your passport? Curious to how quickly the turn around is. Glad that this is behind you and wish you all the best!
  18. @llcoolwil good luck today, living vicariously through you!
  19. It looks like a lot of individuals get picked up in the EB category along with being from those countries identified as needing extreme vetting. I’m not holding my breath because none of this process has made sense but that’s what I observed. We have also uploaded some unsolicited evidence on our profile of recent trips, weddings, flights etc. I’m not sure if it does anything but just trying to bring a mountain of evidence!
  20. Good luck! I am super jealous haha, the 23rd is killing me. Please share if anyone receives a DS5535 form this month!
  21. Sorry all, another question: Has there been a lot of DS5535’s handed out the past couple rounds of interviews? I tried to establish an idea based on the “Dreaded DS5535” thread but it was unclear as it seemed like a handful of folks talking.
  22. Does anyone have a rough idea on how quickly folks are receiving their passports via courier service from Montreal after the interview? I’ve seen 5-10 business days but also some people getting it in 2-3 days.
  23. This is super common, when I applied for a student visa my dad pulled mine and it was missing multiple trips for sports, visiting grandparents, etc. There were even cases where they had me entering the country and never leaving until I reentered months later. I looked at mine the past few months and it was still very much the same, I travel back and forth 1-2 a month and they hardly have accurate dates. I do not believe I94 is needed at the interview, if they wanted it, they could get it themselves fairly quickly.
  24. Haha thankful to have an interview compared to most but we were also scratching our heads. Almost over !
  25. Hi All, Just an update, I was able to register for the courier service and my medical is scheduled for early July. I think this is about it minus compiling my final documents. still open to interview trade dates haha!
