NEVER send original documentation.  You always send copies.  Then, you keep the originals to brin to any applicable interviews, etc.

The only "original" I ever sent was our marriage license/certificate for the AOS.  BUT, it was because we paid for multiple original copies.

November 2018 - K1 filed

May 2019 - K1 interview scheduled and packet sent to embassy

June 2019 - K1 interview, approved, and moved to USA

August 2019 - Married

September 2019 - AOS/EAD/AP filed

October 2019 - Biometrics Appointment

January 2020 - AOS RFE for birth certificate received and sent back

February 2020 - EAD/AP approved and got the card

October 2020 - EAD/AP renewal filed

November 2020 - EAD/AP renewal approved and got the card - AOS interview date issued

December 2020 - AOS interview, approved, and GC received

September 2022 - ROC filed

Never send original marriage certificates either. USCIS does not want them and if it decides it does not want the joh of safeguarding such a document for a 100 years, it will send it back, thus delaying the case.

"Original copy" is a bit of an oxymoron. There can only be one original; official reproductions of an original are certified copies.

Two quarters minted in the same year with the same head and tail, from a common die are each originals, not copies. Send me your loose change if you think otherwise.

Why listen to chatter when the official USCIS website explicitly states NOT to send originals when filing forms by mail?  https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-guidance/tips-for-filing-forms-by-mail
