I’ve never been employed by an employer, I’ve done freelance gigs and was technically “self employed” but I never made enough money for it to be full time. I’m in school currently, what should I fill out for that part of the form? My partner also has never been employed, what do I fill out on that section for the form? Do I leave it blank?

The instructions don’t say only full time jobs. List them, it was still work even if it’s part time.

Student or unemployed are both acceptable

If you won't meet the HHS Poverty Guidelines, then you may want look for a co-sponsor for your I-134.

https://aspe.hhs.gov/topics/poverty-economic-mobility/poverty-guidelines

You can maybe mention that you will have a co-sponsor in Part 8. Additional Information of the I-129F.

Remember also you need to make 1.25*HHS Poverty Guidelines for the AOS after you are married to your K1 beneficiary.

Hopefully you have a well qualified joint sponsor, or education/job prospects.  US immigration is expensive, and K-1 is the most expensive route.

  • 2 weeks later...

I’m currently a college student and have no job as of now. I’m planning to get a job after I finish school, but I want to file for I-129f. My parents can be a joint sponsor to financially support him, but eventually whenever I get a job and he gets a job, are they technically required to support him? Eventually I will be able to support him instead of my parents, but will there be trouble if they stop supporting him?

The I-134 your joint sponsor needs to sign is not legally enforceable.

When your fiancé arrives in the USA, you marry, and he files I-485, you file I-864 with it as the primary sponsor.    If you earn enough he won’t need a joint sponsor.

I-864 (whether joint or primary) is legally binding till the foreign spouse becomes a US citizen or forfeits status and leaves the US.

I-864 needs to be 125% of the poverty guideline while I-134 is 100% of the poverty  guidelines.

If you are going to provide a list of terminating events, please provide all of them.  Besides the ability to be credited with 40 quarterly SS credits you also failed to mention death.
