New police certificates required for the interview if they are older than 6 months?

Hello, 

 

I have been DQed at the NVC three weeks ago and now waiting for an interview date at the embassy in Switzerland. In this regard, I have a question concerning the police certificates from countries where I lived before. I requested them earlier this year, between March and May. By now they are all older than 6 months. Should I request new certificates if my interview date is next month (November 2022) or are they still valid?

If you haven’t gone back to that country for a visit or otherwise, there is no expiration date for those.

And even if you have, current DoS policy is that police certificates are valid for two years.

Police certificates expire after two years, unless the certificate was issued from your country of previous residence and you have not returned there since the police certificate was issued.

Hi Ozzac, how long did it take from being DQed to being scheduled at the US embassy in Switzerland for an interview? Would love to learn from your experience. Thank you.
