  1. Congratulations! It seems that it takes them two months then to schedule an interview. I thought in the past it took less but who knows… I will let you know about my interview!
  2. Hello @iCodeClean, I did receive my interview appointment almost three weeks after being DQed. I was getting worried because days were passing by and had no news, but finally I got it. The interview will be in December, even though I would have expected November since they don't receive many such requests. Basically, it's going to take about two months from the date I was DQed. Good luck!
  3. Hello, I have been DQed at the NVC three weeks ago and now waiting for an interview date at the embassy in Switzerland. In this regard, I have a question concerning the police certificates from countries where I lived before. I requested them earlier this year, between March and May. By now they are all older than 6 months. Should I request new certificates if my interview date is next month (November 2022) or are they still valid? Many thanks in advance!
  4. Hello, Does anybody know how long a visa is valid for once it has been issued? I need this information as I need to give notice to my current employer which requires 3 months. Is the valid more or less valid than 3 months? Thank you in advance!
  5. Yes, it's a big jump! I expected to hear from them next week and instead they answered today. Glad they are picking up speed!
  6. Hello friends, finally DQed today!!!! I have received an email from the NVC saying that they are going to work with the Bern embassy to schedule an appointment. How long did it take you to get one from the day you were DQed? Many thanks!
  7. I have just received a message from the NVC that I have been DQed, so happy!!!! I submitted the documents on 31 May and RFEed on 9 August (missing W2 for my wife and sponsor - for 2020) and re-submitted on 16 August. Good luck everyone!
  8. Congratulations! I’ve got RFEd from the NVC in August because of a W2 missing and the Swiss criminal record not properly scanned. Did you get an RFE as well by any chance? If yes, did you have to wait another 2 months until the NVC reviewed your case again?
  9. Hello, I have been RFEd on 9 August and it seems that I need to go back to the end of the queue. Does anybody know why is taking NVC so long to review cases (a little over two months)? Thank you in advance!
  10. Hi everyone, A few days ago I have got a reply from the NVC (submission date May 31st) with a DS260 review note saying "The petition you have filed does not allow derivative status for family members. This means that any spouse, unmarried child under age 21, or parent will require his or her own petition to immigrate". I am not sure why I got this message, but probably because I selected that my wife and daughter (both US citizens) were migrating with me. I selected this option because we are all living abroad and we all moving together to the US. Do you know if this is a show stopper or if it is just a note to say that if I want other people to migrate with me, they would need a petition of their own? Many thanks!
  11. Thank you for your reply @chaoticenergy! I thought the 2020 W-2 for the joint sponsor made sense because we uploaded the 2021 one and wasn’t enough, maybe because we started our visa in 2020. Did you have to re-upload the AOS or did you write your statements when you first submitted it? any tips about the DS-260? Just writing to them (it seems that it takes about 2 months to reply though!)
  12. Hi everyone, After waiting 75 days, I have got a series of RFE's some of which I am not sure what to do. Any advice would be appreciated. We started our petition in 2020 but due to COVID we slowed it down until this spring. We live abroad and my wife is a housewife with no income. Despite that they ask for a W-2 or 1099 for year 2020? They are asking the same thing for the joint sponsor (for him we only attached W-2 for 2021), which makes sense, but I don't understand why they ask for one for my wife. Anyone with same experience? Also, there was a message about the DS-260 form and says "The petition you have filed does not allow derivative status for family members. This means that any spouse, unmarried child under age 21, or parent will require his or her own petition to immigrate." I think they mention this because I selected "Yes" on the question is wife/child going to immigrate with you to the US? We thought we should answer yes, because we all live abroad and we're all going to move together to the US...however, now I cannot correct that in the DS-260. What could I do? The strangest thing, however, was about the police record for Japan (where I lived in the past) which I have attached. The message says: "The police certificate required for JAPAN is not needed in order for the interview to be scheduled. However, the police certificate must be obtained and uploaded before the visa interview. Please use our Document Finder at https://nvc.state.gov/find for acceptable documents guidelines." Even though I have attached it and they accepted it, they still mentioned this sentence, a bit odd, don't you think? Grateful to whom could reply about the W-2 for a housewife and what to do with the DS-260.
  13. Filed on May 31st and waiting to hear from them in the coming days, I hope!
  14. Any DQs this week? And when did you submit your documents? thank you and good luck everyone!
