You can try but that would assume they have interview spots available

Just like it says on the tin.

Some circumstances have changed, and I may have grounds for an expedite. I know it's probably a long shot, but I'd like to know if it's even possible after the interview has already been scheduled.

You can try.  Once an interview has been scheduled, NVC is finished, and all correspondence is with the consulate.

None.

Technically there is nothing to expedite.  You would email the embassy/consulate to request to reschedule to an earlier date, if available.

We rescheduled my wife's CR1 interview.  I sent them emails once a week for the request.  The first two responses from the embassy was that there were no dates available.  The response from the 3rd request detailed 2 earlier days that were available, and they instructed us to use USTravelDocs website to reschedule it ourselves.

Thanks! Was the rescheduling pretty smooth? How much earlier was it?

Yes.  2 weeks.  My wife had to travel to another country later in the month.  The rescheduled date allowed her to get her passport back with her visa before she traveled.

For Ukraine it is done online.  You will need to check how it is done for your embassy/consulate.

In general, no, but that assumes you don't misrepresent something in your request.  Requesting, no problem.  How you request and what you say, anything is possible.
