We needed wife's divorce certificate. She obtained it on a regular trip back to Taiwan. By that time, it was simpler to file under the 5-year rule.   Bottom line:  It took the N-400 to "unstick" the I-751.

You can apply for citizenship whenever you become eligible. In many cases this can speed up approval for I-751. In other cases it won't have any effect at all.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400

Oh wow, thanks for the breakdown. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to how they do things. That length of time for a green card is just crazy.

Today 03/08/23 Rec'd updated receipt with 48 month extension. Notice date 03/01/23.

 

USCIS statis online shows unavailable. Has been this way for the past month.

 

Anyone else experiencing this?

 

What about the update to interview waivers per the Biden Administration. Will this now expedite some of those backlogged cases?

 

Good to hear from you! If I check status via MyUSCIS,  it says unavailable and if I directly check via case status, it still has 'received ' . Also, I am assigned to the YSC, they are the most backlogged office.

MyUSCIS has issues with status, many people report it daily. Just keep checking using case status.

ROC received 10/03/2022. 

After a month I received a 24months extension. Up until now my case is still the same saying it's received and sent a letter (which is the 24months extension) on how they will process my case.

After 159 days of wait without no news from USCIS, we received earlier today our 48 months extension letter... What an improvement lol

No news for me for 333 days. No 48 month extension, last news was biometric reuse. Good luck!

Not even biometrics reuse? YSC is slow compared to WAC. 48 month extension letters are being sent for a reason unfortunately...
