Hey Guys,

A question for ya all if you guys know or can explain.

Currently a Permanent Resident with a Green Card- applied i-130 for a Canadian born unmarried over 21 child over 5 years ago (2017) still under process.

Want to file for a USA citizenship n-400

If the citizenship process is completed and the petitioner become citizen of USA before i-130 is approved what will the category of i-130 (would still be "filed by PR GC holder") Do you have to inform USCIS in writing that the petitioner of form i-130 is a US Citizen now

Would the filed i130 classification change for Permanent Resident to filed by a USA Citizen. I think it will not - I just want to make sure that there is no mix up at the that end (meaning Form i-130).

I hope I didn't confuse ya all

thanks

Even if the petitioner becomes a USC after the i130 is approved, the category is switched to F1 during NVC phase or even during the visa interview. However one can request NVC to retain the F2B category if the wait time is shorter.

For Canada F2B shows Jan 1, 2017 - My receipt date is Sept 11, 2017

My Question is: Does that - PROVIDED my i-130 is approved & if date (in green) goes to Sept 17 2017 - or beyond we can file visa application I am really confused how this will work that's why I came to the

experts.

Thanks for your help

You will be invited to complete all the documents with NVC, after which you will be entered into the queue to await for your Interview Letter (IL).
