Thank you in return.  Your post was valuable and enabled a good mini-discussion.

The larger lesson for all is that there's no need to fear a land-crossing; applying a few tips will help make this crossing easier; and having your papers in order will help the CBP agents identify you readily and thus relieve their stress.  :)

In previous post you asked why they charged me $6 USD right and I looked into this website and they say for land crossing they charge that much. On top of your advice I think applying for New I-94 For Land Border Crossings Only they will still issue an I-94 during the admission process at the port of entry. More details can be found on this website.

That definitely was rough but I traveled twice before using my advance parole so I was able to keep my cool knowing that I will be let in.

Good day everyone, I have a quick question. Can I travel to Puerto Rico with just my REAL state ID? I am waiting on my Vawa case and my passport from my home country has expired. I will appreciate any information.

Thank You

I did travel to Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands which is a United States Territory, travel to the U.S. Virgin Islands does not require a passport for U.S. citizens arriving from Puerto Rico or the U.S. mainland. So entering was easy but leaving, we have to go through CBP, I was traveling with us citizen and she only have to show her driving license and when I did the same the officer said that I can't do that since I am not a us citizen, So I have to show them my passport, advance parole card and receipt notice that my AOS is pending.  I know this is not helpful but I am sharing my exp.

Hi all, I hope everyone’s year has gotten off to a great start. Im really struggling with this and I’m hoping someone will calm me down. @sandranj

My lawyer told me today that my interview will be on Monday (1/9). USCIS sent out the letter on 12/20. I  understand that it was the holidays but I’m so upset at the last minute heads up. I feel so unprepared. Im going over the list of documents they want and I don’t even know if I have all of them! I have to go home and check. I’m guessing they will want originals only and I can’t remember where my birth certificate or my marriage license are. What will happen if I don’t have originals? I also wanted to practice some interview questions with my lawyer and now I won’t have time to do that. I have to take Friday (prepare) and Monday off. I work in medicine, a last minute notice is very inconvenient.

Second, I was really really hoping to be approved without the interview. So many people have. So now I’m completely panicking  that they found something in my application that raised a red flag and that the interview will be really hard.

Finally, I apologize if I sound ungrateful. I am extremely grateful. I have been waiting for this day for three years and if i had even a week’s heads up, I would have been so excited. But 13 years of dreams and life here are contingent on this day and I feel so unprepared. Please give me your best advice and tips and perhaps reassurance that not getting interview waived isn’t a red flag. Oh and what to do if I don’t have originals.  Like I said, 13 years are on the line here and I’m so anxious 😕

Because I know I’ll be asked… I can’t remember the exact dates but I think this is pretty close:

485 and 130 were  filed together in Oct 2019

Interview scheduled for April 2020

interview canceled due to Covid.

i left my husband in May 2020

interview rescheduled to July 2020

Requested 485 to be held in abeyance and filed 360 in Sept 2020

i-360 approved in Oct 2022

Medicals requested Nov 2022

interview schedule notice Dec 2022

interview date Jan 2023

Please dont panic I believe everything will be okay. God will go before you and perfect everything that concerns you. I dont think you have any red flag concerning the interview. I think if you have not attend any interview prior to your pending adjustment of status or consular interview like those k1 Visa they might want to interview you for all those Yes and No questions. Rejoice, it will surely end in Praises.

Preparing to send in my i-765 and I-131 combo card renewal. I have a pending I-485 and pending I-360 VAWA. Do I send both I-765 and I-131 renewal to Vermont?

Can somehow help me confirm if this is all I need to send, and if this is the right place to send to? Again, I’m pending I-485 and pending I-360 VAWA. My combo card is expiring 8/18/23 which makes the earliest date of renewal 2/19/23 (180 days). Thanks.

Yes it will be go to Vermont. You need everything except the 4,5 and 6. You do not need to send those.
