  1. As someone who has benefitted from these jokes, I'm a believer!! 100% success rate!
  2. Anyone else very... intrigued... by the fast approvals these days? Saw someone get their I-360 approved in less than 6 months. Even less for non-VAWA - saw one get approved one month after submission. I looked at my timeline and I got my green card 972 days after submitting I-360 and 1250 days since original I-485. Not complaining by any means! I am over the moon for everyone who dont have to go through the hell we did and good for USCIS for finally getting it together but I really hope the people who still havent been approved are prioritized too. It looks like though things are moving along for everyone now (just by this forum alone!) so I'm praying everyone has good news soon!
  3. I can't believe it's finally my turn to say THE JOKES WORKED!! Forget fancy lawyers, forget letters to congressmen, everyone just needs @TBoneTX 's jokes! Has the best success rate I've ever seen 🥳!
  4. Is this it? Is it really over? Please tell me this is it and not a USCIS error! I'm trying to not get excited and wait until the card is in my hand just in case it's a technical error but omg 😭
  5. Hi all, Is there anyone here who got an RFE after their interview and still got their green card? They received my evidence last Monday (interview was the Monday before) and since then, I haven't been able to focus on work or even sleep because I am so anxious that they are going to deny my application. I'm trying not to jump to the worst case scenario but I'm struggling so much.
  6. Hi guys, I had my interview and I dont feel like it went well. They gave me an RFE because my birth certificate is from several years after I was born. I've seen others get this RFE in the mail. Why not just mail it to me too? Why call me in for an interview just to send me away again? I'm so confused about what I'm doing wrong and so nervous. I was really hoping to log back in today to share the good news Regarding the RFE, I was going to go with an affidavit signed by my parents and my older sister. Do you think that will be enough? It will be hard to find records from 30+ years ago and I really want to send this in asap. Would appreciate any advice! Thank you all so much! *edit* This is what my status says now. I am so scared, what's going on? Your interview for your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number ----, was completed, and your case must be reviewed. We will mail you a notice if we make a decision or take further action.
  7. Thank you! You are always so helpful on this forum and it is so appreciated! Thank you again ❤️
  8. Okay one more question... Anyone who has had an interview, could you please share your experiences? What questions to prepare for? What documents they wanted? What it was like, in general? I looked through the thread but it looks like most people have gotten their interviews waived. I'm so sorry for all the questions, I'm so nervous.
  9. To bring my lawyer to the interview or not? I was initially planning on going in just by myself - I'm usually pretty good at interviews and employers have told me I keep things lighthearted and am easy to interact with so that's what I was planning to do. I thought maybe having my lawyer in with me would make things too formal and I like to be able to joke around lol. But of course now, I'm having second thoughts. This is, after all, the most important interview of my life. Thoughts?
  10. Hi all, I hope everyone’s year has gotten off to a great start. Im really struggling with this and I’m hoping someone will calm me down. @sandranj My lawyer told me today that my interview will be on Monday (1/9). USCIS sent out the letter on 12/20. I understand that it was the holidays but I’m so upset at the last minute heads up. I feel so unprepared. Im going over the list of documents they want and I don’t even know if I have all of them! I have to go home and check. I’m guessing they will want originals only and I can’t remember where my birth certificate or my marriage license are. What will happen if I don’t have originals? I also wanted to practice some interview questions with my lawyer and now I won’t have time to do that. I have to take Friday (prepare) and Monday off. I work in medicine, a last minute notice is very inconvenient. Second, I was really really hoping to be approved without the interview. So many people have. So now I’m completely panicking that they found something in my application that raised a red flag and that the interview will be really hard. Finally, I apologize if I sound ungrateful. I am extremely grateful. I have been waiting for this day for three years and if i had even a week’s heads up, I would have been so excited. But 13 years of dreams and life here are contingent on this day and I feel so unprepared. Please give me your best advice and tips and perhaps reassurance that not getting interview waived isn’t a red flag. Oh and what to do if I don’t have originals. Like I said, 13 years are on the line here and I’m so anxious 😕 Because I know I’ll be asked… I can’t remember the exact dates but I think this is pretty close: 485 and 130 were filed together in Oct 2019 Interview scheduled for April 2020 interview canceled due to Covid. i left my husband in May 2020 interview rescheduled to July 2020 Requested 485 to be held in abeyance and filed 360 in Sept 2020 i-360 approved in Oct 2022 Medicals requested Nov 2022 interview schedule notice Dec 2022 interview date Jan 2023
  11. Does anyone know the average time in between receiving the deficiency notice and the RFE letter to send medicals? They mailed the deficiency letter on 11/8 to my lawyer's office. I'm wondering if they sent the RFE letter and she hasn't told me yet or if I'm just being impatient lol (or if I'm going to have to interview 😕) Also, I hope everyone is hanging in there. Tons and tons of people (on Reddit) are getting approved even though they filed after me - one filed in July and 485 got approved yesterday lol. I'm definitely happy for them but I wish it was me too. I HAVE to believe that our time is coming soon!!
  12. Have 100% become a believer in the jokes! Out here doing the lord's work, TBoneTX!! 😂
  13. Oh wow you answered this same question literally just hours ago, I'm the worst 🤦‍♀️ Thank you!
  14. Thank you for the reassurance! So sorry for not looking through first, my anxiety is sky high! Thanks for being the voice of reason for so many of us!!
  15. You guys, I need thoughts on this. Based on things I've seen here, I thought this was a VAWA approval but now I'm not sure. My understanding is that "the card" is usually a C31 EAD card that is issued with VAWA approval and this is later converted to a C9 card. Because I filed I-485 before I-360, I have just been renewing the C9 card I got with the 485. My most recent C9 EAD came in March 2022 and is good until 2024. What card is this? IF it is the C31, will it invalidate my C9? My I-485 status has not changed since my lawyer requested interview rescheduling. Here's my timeline if it's helpful. It's not very elaborate because I don't recall all the dates but it should give enough of an idea, I think. August 2019: Filed I-485 as spouse to US citizen. Did not submit medicals. Received C9 EAD I think Dec 2019. Feb 2020: Interview scheduled March 2020: Interview rescheduled due to covid Sept 2020: Interview scheduled Sept 2020: Filed I-360, requested interview to be rescheduled and I-485 to be held in abeyance. Have received multiple prima facies since filing, most recent one was literally two weeks ago. Lawyer is currently on PTO so I won't get an answer until Monday. Any input would be so appreciated! I almost cried with excitement and now I'm not too sure what this means or how it will affect employment.
