I should mention that two weeks ago at the local Costco right here in Southern California I saw a Christmas display with a  giant 20 foot snowman character and toys and other gift type items.  It was an more elaborate display that the Halloween display they has two aisles over.  I don't know if maybe one employees jumped the gun with the Christmas display or if that is now Costco policy.  But clearly Southern California Costco beat out the Philippines this year.

Actually, I think Philippines still won the race this year!  S&R (our Costco) had Christmas deco for sale in early August!  And they were already selling Pampanga Christmas lanterns alongside the roads in mid-August.  After 2 years of bad Christmas business, I think they were anxious to get Christmas started!
