my wife who is a US citizen is trying to bring her aunt here on a DS-160.

Do you mean that her aunt applied for a B1/B2 tourist visa?  Has her aunt completed visa interview yet?  If so, did the interviewing officer keep her passport?  Typically, tourist visa applicants find out from the officer whether they are approved or denied.

I applied for her. She hasn't had an interview. We're hoping to get one for her but cannot see if she's approved one without the receipt number....

You or she needs to schedule the interview after submitting DS160 by going through the scheduling process online. There is no DS160 review/approval process. The embassy won't schedule the interview. Submit DS160, go through interview scheduling process by yourself and show up for the interview. Depending upon the embassy, you may not be able to secure an interview for several months or a year or more.

Hi,

my wife who is a US citizen is trying to bring her aunt here on a DS-160. We haven't been able to check case status as we don't have a receipt number. We do have a confirmation number from when we applied... Any advice? thanks

Which country?

Have you paid the fee yet?

We can give you more advice on what steps to take... but you won't know the status until AFTER the interview.

Wait time for Bogota is currently 867 days.

Not sure if there is another consulate you can interview at.

I would check the appointment page once a day.
