Hello!

My husband and I sent our GC application in Sept 2022. It was received and we got notified Sep 03 2022. The office we are registered for the I-485 now estimates the wait time to 29 months in Brooklyn while it is 15 months in Manhattan. This difference is insane! Is it possible for people to change their office? Or would it only be possible if we move and change our address? Also, what I don't understand is that the I-130 processing time shows 15 months but isn't it the last piece of the puzzle? Or is I-130 usually approved before I-485?

You can't choose field office or everyone would pick a "fast" one.

The i-130 is just a petition and doesn't grant any immigration benefits on its own. It is generally approved or denied without an interview. The i-130 can be filed alone and therefore has its own processing times. It's handled by a service center, not a field office.

It's the i-485 that eventually grants you a greencard and this is where the longer wait happens. Especially since the i-485 requires an interview, that's why it goes through field offices and not just service centers.

You have it the wrong way round. You need a basis (the approved i130 petition) on which to adjust (using i485).

Yes, I meant September 2021! As an update, I finally received my travel parole. So it took exactly 12 months to receive it (National Benefit Center). The timeline for the I-485 still shows 29 months.
