Your understanding is correct, your consultant's not so much. The kids are not under separate visa petitions.

While filling the household size on i-864 should I enter "0" for my spouse in line number #3 as she is already counted in line number# 1? Also, I have two partially dependent children from my previous marriage so I entered in the line number# 4. Is that correct?

I have no one listed under the lines 8 to 17 so which option I need to select either 21 or 22. I think 22 but it says that they have "no accompanying dependents" but my wife has accompanying dependents i.e her son & daughter. Also, I don't have to fill up i-864A, right?

Yes, 0 for spouse as you have already included her in item 1. And yes enter 2 for dependent children, that should bring your household size to 6

You select neither, you’re not counting anyone else’s income

it says “optional” in brackets so I wouldn’t bother to fill that in

six for each applicant. No passport photos for I-864

If the applicant is a child under age 14 the parent or guardian will sign. Over 14 the child can sign it themselves.

 

And yes, the k2 is a derivative.  You can find info in this thread
