Three members of the tribunal who decided on the ruling, and alluded to their own experience of hair loss, said that baldness was more prevalent in men than women. Therefore, they argued that the use of the word “bald” as an insult related to a “protected characteristic of sex.”

The tribunal compared calling a man bald to commenting on the size of woman’s breasts, based on a 1995 case.

(some) Bald men have issues~

I grew up surrounded by bald men so I thought it was just something that happened to men. 

I'm still amazed my brother and husband both have full heads of hair.

I don't understand how this is sexual harassment. Regular harassment sure. 

I don't mind bald men, in fact there are plenty of men that should learn to embrace it and take those tribbles off their heads. You are not your hair, bald can be beautiful.

My take is that because the harassment was based on a sex-linked characteristic (generally only men go bald, or significantly bald), this is sex-based harassment.
