My mistake.  I should have said we are going to get her Medicare set up.   A non-working spouse can qualify through his/her spouse's work record.  She should qualify for Premium -Free Medicare Part A since I, her spouse, already qualify for Premium-Free Medicare Part A and she has been a legal resident for 5 years (next month).  Like everyone else, she will have to pay for Medicare Part B.

August 7, 2022: Wife filed N-400 Online under 5 year rule.

November 10, 2022: Received "Interview is scheduled" letter.

December 12, 2022:  Received email from Dallas office informing me (spouse) to be there for combo interview.

December 14, 2022: Combo Interview for I-751 and N-400 Conducted.

January 26, 2023: Wife's Oath Ceremony completed at the Plano Event Center, Plano, Texas!!!😁

February 6, 2023: Wife's Passport Application submitted in Dallas, Texas.

March 21, 2023:   Wife's Passport Delivered!!!!

May 15, 2023 (about):  Naturalization Certificate returned from Passport agency!!

 

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

We got our interview letter about a month ago and our ROC interview is tomorrow. So about a month.

You can always request to have it rescheduled due to prior travel arrangements. This is actually my biggest concerns with planning future vacations, like USCIS expects everyone to put their life on hold due to a  2-3 year processing time for an I-751. Ridiculous.

@HarryWL exactly! My parents are getting old and I barely see them so I’m not gonna cancel my trip for sure. I my attorney is able to reschedule it if they send it the notice when I’m abroad. 
BTW in the website we can actually submit a question if our case is out of normal processing time. Mine is but it’s almost time for my trip and I don’t want to make things worse lol

UPDATE!! We went to our ROC interview today (even though we already had an interview for AOS in 2019). Interview was a few hours ago and the status already updated to the new card is being produced. Nothing weird happened. It was the same standard questions....She asked each of us what the other person's birthday is, where each person works, what each person's schedule is (in general, it didn't have to be super specific), and if we have traveled together. She also asked us how we celebrated our last anniversary. We came with a ton of documents, but she only requested our bank statement. 

 

****I ASKED IF IT IS OKAY TO TRAVEL EVEN IF THE CARD DOES NOT COME IN TIME****

I said we have an international trip planned for 3 weeks from now, so what happens if the card comes after we leave? The officer said it is not a problem and we can travel with the expired 2 yr card and the extension letter regardless.

We ran into this with our AOS interview. We were visiting my husband's family in his country and our AOS interview got scheduled for during the time we were away. We simply requested a new date and we were seen the following month. Granted, this was in 2019 before Covid so maybe it was a little easier then. But we had no issue getting that interview date changed.
