My understand is CBP, not USCIS, are the ones to contact for the travel extension.

 

None of my beneficiaries were even asked about vaccinations.

Sure. There is not specification on where they fly into.

The processes are totally separate from what I can see. Since the process for I-134 (U4U) only takes a few days, I would do it first if you are really concerned. Why not, especially since the I-130 will be in process for many, many years.

She can go where she wants, and sponsor in this context is pretty meaninglessness

Hey everyone.

I filled out the form I-134 for my beneficiary on November 22nd, and I haven’t received confirmation yet.

I already filled this before for other beneficiaries  in the summer and it only took 1-3 days so I’m a little worried.

It's been only 6 days.....This is not the summer.  This was Thanksgiving week.....  Just be patient!!!

I have seen it mentioned things had slowed down, I assume after the initial rush plus Venezuela there are much fewer people handling them.

Totally agree with Crazy Cat and Boiler here. Some of mine in the late spring took longer than this also. I'd be patient a little while longer....

Beneficiary has electricity, heat, internet issues so I hope this is approved soon so they can fly here.

Thank you everyone for responses. My I-134 got approved on Tuesday evening, it took only a week, even with Thanksgiving, very impressed.

 

I have question about the new rule effective in November 21 - that all U4U are now eligible to work legally as soon as they arrive.

Does this mean that when they arrive, they can go right away to Social Security Administration and apply for SSN with passport & I-94 form?

Good question. From my understanding they will still need the I-785 process/SSN process. But with the I-94 with UDP designation they will be eligible to work for up to 90 days while they are getting their EAD/SSN.

What is the total number of dependents? My answer is 0

What is the total income? - this one is confusing!  Do they mean MY INCOME or MY DEPENDENTS' INCOME?

I have a question about being a sponsor. Just two months ago I filed I-130 (green card) for my parents and it was approved. Right now their case is at NVC pending review. I submitted all the needed paperwork. 

 

My friend from Ukraine contacted me a few days ago asking if I could be her sponsor. I would like to but I'm afraid it's going to complicate my parents' case. There is a question on I-130 about sponsoring anybody else so If I were to sponsor my friend then I would look like I lied on I-130. Or can I  amend it? It looks like once you submit everything to NVC you can't make any changes. 

 

Has anybody else been in a similar situation?

You did lie on the I-130 because you had not sponsored someone else at the time you filed it. However, sponsoring someone else will require you to file a replacement I-130 reflecting the sponsorship of your friends. My wife's mother, brother, and his family were looking for a sponsor which her I-130 was pending. Had I sponsored them, I would not have had the income to qualify for my wife and step-daughter. There are also different support levels to consider. Make sure you run the numbers carefully. 

 

In my case, I would have gone from a family size of three: Me, my wife, my step-daughter to eight by adding: mother, brother, wife, son, son.
