If they are "immediate relatives" (ie. parent/spouse/minor child) of USC, they may adjust status.

If they are young and will not be working, no. You can the a SSN directly from the SSA for tax purposes etc.

It's my first time posting in this forum, I'm in advance sorry if I'm doing something wrong.

 

Has anyone ever been stuck waiting for the travel authorization decision from CBP (take a look at the screenshot)? 
We've been waiting for 9 days already. After reading all 43 pages of the topic, I didn't see anyone ever had an issue with long-time waiting for the travel authorization decision.

 

Maybe, we should reapply? Thank you!

I don't think I would reapply at this point. I would first try to contact CBP (202-325-8000). It is possible CBP is having an issue with background check.

Hey, we called them and they told that it's still a normal processing time, because they're receiving more requests right now and many people are on vacation, so it's all good so far

Hi all,

 

I petitioned for my beneficiaries to get travel documents by filling out the I-131s for them and including the fee waiver I-912. The petitions were rejected because apparently the fee waiver does not work on the I-131s unless they are out of the country and are applying for a humanitarian parole. From my understanding, you can petition for I-131s for U4U beneficiaries, but they have to pay the $500+ fee per petition.

That is what the Fee Waiver form says. You were not applying for HP.

I think that technically I was. My beneficiaries' father died, which I believe makes their travel eligible for "humanitarian reasons".

I'm guessing that this is different from Advanced Parole for Humanitarian reasons.....

Hey there!

I applied for my friend and his family on September 30-th and they were all approved via this program and had time till January 8 to come to the states, but all of a sudden authorization was revoked on December 14-th without any reason given. Does anyone have the same experience or know why it happened? I will try to reapply again.

How were notified their authorization was revoked?

The status changed 4 days before their flight and no information or reason was provided besides this status.
