Good evening, I am trying to collect the documents for my mom's interview. In the list of requirments, it says evidence. What kind of evidence can she bring? I am going to print some family pictures but what else can she bring? I don't have many records of messages because we mostly talk on face time. Thanks in advance.

Other question. Her interview is on January 31st, about the prove of income, I don't think we are going to have the new W2s or IRS transcripts at the time of the interview, so pay stuffs are enoug? Thanks again

I know this is difficult, but I will keep trying. It will work because, this distance is nothing compared to our love.

if family based visa the documents will be the originals of NVC submitted documents

Before 4/15/22 u will use 2020 income 2021 is not needed till after 4 /15/ 2022

If you can get a letter from employer with hire dates and saying current income (along with last pay stub which shows year to date gross pay YTD),  it would be helpful

the list of needed documents should have been sent with notice of interview

If tourist visa  documents will be proof of property ownership,  job,  birth certificate,  Passport and National ID (if there is one) with English translations of documents

USCIS has a list of needed documents per visa type

Thanks a lot. I was thinking about the last pay stubs as well.

It is a CR1 visa. In the notice of the interview they sent me a link but it didn't say specifically what to bring about the financial documents. I am just resending what I had put in at the NVC step.

I don’t think “evidence of ongoing relationship” is required for your mom and they dont need your family pictures

What she needs is the original documents you supplied that established the parent-child relationship.

I am confused because of this.

found this list for IR5 for parents

BTW each parent needs 2 passport photos

  • A valid passport for more than 6 months after your planned entry into America
  • A signed I-864 (Affidavit of Support form from the U.S petitioner)
  • The confirmation page of the DS-260 form
  • Medical examination and vaccination documents
  • A valid birth certificate which proves the relationship between the applicant and the U.S citizen
  • Two photographs (according to U.S Visa photograph requirements) for each individual who wants to apply for the IR5 Visa
  • Any court and criminal records and/or police certificate
  • If the applicant has ever served in the military, they must bring their military records

I think that’s generic for family based petitions.

Just another random guy from the internet with an opinion, although usually backed by data!

Visa for parents is IR5.  Please clarify what your mom's visa category is.  Also, are you the petitioner?

Yes, I am the petitioner. I am trying to bring my mom as a resident. I don't remeber the type of visa.

Thanks so much for all the answers. I have been anxious trying to get everything ready for her interview. I have one last question if anybody can help me please.

When I submitted the tax transcripts to the NVC, I downloaded them from the IRS page. Are they good to take to the interview? would they be considered originals or just copies? Thanks in advance.

No one but the IRS has the "originals" of transcripts.  A printed copy of the downloaded transcript is fine for the interview.

Embassy dependent

as some want the originals

but now,  its almost impossible to get anything from IRS

IRS is saying they are way behind in processing tax returns and other requests

i would print out this page to take to interview announcing IRS issues

https://www.awesome1009.com/2022/01/11/irs-says-processing-backlogs-will-likely-delay-refunds-due-to-staffing-shortages/

The Internal Revenue Service said on Monday that acute staffing shortages will likely delay tax refunds and other services this year as the agency prepares for the 2022 tax filing season, which will begin on January 24.
