  1. Just a Heads Up. My MIL lived in Mexico for 2 years before returning to Peru. She was asked to provide a form call Migratory Movement that is issued by www.gob.pe/migraciones. Just in case, you might want to check that out before they ask for it IMHO.
  2. I found the answer, in case this comes up with anyone else. This document is needed if you have ever left your country, lived in another country and then returned back to your country. MIL lived in Mexico for 2 years and returned to Peru
  3. MIL had her interview today in Lima, Peru. They kept her passport but gave her a list of documents that she needed to upload: 1. The one in the Subject Line. 2. Original W-2's for petitioner and household member. 3. An IRS Transcript We provided Taxes for this 2022 year. Does anyone know what this Migratory Movement thing is all about. Thanks guys
  4. Thanks a bunch. I really appreciate your response. Clears up a lot of stress.
  5. I read about a fee to be paid to a bank. Does that apply to IR5 applicants whose interview was scheduled by the embassy? Scotia bank?
  6. Is there an additional payment at the Consulate in Lima Peru BEFORE the Interview? Category IR5
  7. The addresses of 3 of my MILs children were unknown when the DS-260 was filled in, so we put unknown, just to expedite the process. Now we are afraid that this may cause a problem because we now have the complete correct addresses. How do we fix this problem? I tried going back to the CEAC and see if I could do it there, but it's not letting me do it. I just get a message to call, email, and fax to the Lima Embassy. Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you handle it? Does anyone know the email address of the Embassy in Lima? Thanks in advance
  8. So, in our case, it does not apply, correct?
  9. MIL received her Interview Letter. I'm following the Preview Interview Instructions and I came upon this statement, HIGHLIGHTED IN RED IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. FOR MIV APPLICANTS: PLEASE BRING WITH YOU TO YOUR INTERVIEW AT THE EMBASSY THE EXACT ORIGINALS OF ALL DOCUMENTS YOU UPLOADED INTO CEAC, INCLUDING PERUVIAN POLICE CERTIFICATES THAT SINCE MAY HAVE EXPIRED. IF YOU DO NOT BRING THE EXACT ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS, PROCESSING OF YOUR CASE WILL BE DELAYED Please use the list below to determine the items that every applicant must bring to the immigrant visa interview. Any documents that are not in either English or Spanish must be accompanied by a certified English translation: What is MIV Applicant and does this apply to us? My concern is that the checklist requires an original birth certificate for each child of the applicant!!! Even if they aren't immigrating. Thank You
  10. After flood waters subsided, got RENIC stamp in the Providence of birth. Re-submitted on 3 Apr 2023. Received DQ on 11 Apr 2023. Now waiting on Interview. Will keep everyone informed on Interview questions.
  11. FINALLY DQ'd today. 11 Apr 2023. After 9 RFE's. 5 of them were for Petitioner's Birth Certificate. Birth Certificate was not in RENIEC in LIMA. We had to go to the Province the she was born to get the BC. This took us a while because that Province was still under water due to the flooding in Peru. We kept submitting the original stamped copy from birth registry in that province, whenever we received a rejection, because we didn't know if we might get a person who was reviewing, who would accept this one, but unfortunately they kept rejecting and continued to ask for the birth certificate to be stamped by RENIEC. The water finally receded enough last week, and we were able to get an appointment RENIEC in the Province. Received RENIEC STAMP on 3 Apr 2023. Uploaded stamped copy of birth certificate in CEAC on 10 Apr 2023 and received DQ email today. Problem: Received two emails. Email time and date identical. One email entitled "Notice regarding your immigrant Visa Case becoming Documentarily Qualified". The second with the general RFE info. I went to CEAC and the only message stated "All required documents have been received and approved. Below that message in the Large Box :DOCUMENTARILY QUALIFIED My question is why two emails, but only one stating Documentarily Qualified. What is the purpose of the other email?
  12. Well, we've received our 5th RFE on the Birth Certificate. The birth was before 1990 and was not in RENEIC in Lima. Lima is still in the process of bringing in other municipalities and providences. After wading through water, literally, because of the recent flooding in Peru, we finally got the birth certificate stamped from the Municipal/Principality of Birth Registry. This WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH! Was able get in touch with a relative in that area of birth. Because of the floods, walk-ins were not being accepted. They gave her an appointment for today and we finally got the RENIEC STAMP!!!!! Now we are just waiting for our next rejection email, so that we can submit this one. We are totally drained. This was a total mess. Hopefully we can get DQ'd this time.
  13. NVC has suspended this telephone number. I saw somewhere on this site that the Birth Certificate has to come from RENIEC, but that's CRAZY because they ACCEPTED it throughout the process. I will try to see if we can get a copy from the RENIEC. For my future VJers for Peru, after this, IMHO, I would advise that all marriage licenses, birth certificates, and any other Civil Documents submitted come from RENIEC, just to avoid the RFEs.
  14. I will trying calling. thanks everyone. will keep you updated
  15. I'm sorry, I misquoted. I actually submitted a copy of the original.
  16. This is the Birth Certificate that was submitted to USCIS to begin the process, which was ACCEPTED. The same one was submitted with the AOS documents and was ACCEPTED.. The translated copy of the Birth Certificate was ACCEPTED, but the ORIGINAL WAS NOT????. What is NVC wanting??? HAS someone had this problem is the past. They would have DQ's me at least a month ago but for this. This is the only RFE that keeps coming Up!! Please help!
  17. Hello; From the way I read you letter, it appears that the NVC will expedite case for Embassy processing. Embassy is WILLING to expedite your case, but the last paragraph says that only the US Embassy or Consulate HAS THE ABILITY to APPROVE or DENY the expedited case. So from my understanding, IMHO, the final results of your expedite will be approved or denied at the Embassy. Maybe someone more knowledgeable will chime in with a better response.
  18. Can you please update spreadsheet to show Re-submit for me. I resubmitted my requested documents on 02/24/2023
  19. Hello i had a similar situation. I went to my CEAC case and saw that the status of the DS 260 showed Complete and Submitted. I printed that information and scanned it into a file. I then sent an Inquiry to NVC and attached the file. A few days later, I received an email telling me that the case was currently being reviewed and not to send any more information. A put a copy of that email on this site for anyone with the same situation. Here is their response: The documents you submitted will be reviewed soon. We will let you know whether we complete your case or if we need more information. “Current processing times are posted on our website at https://nvc.state.gov/timeframes (English) or https://nvc.state.gov/plazos (Spanish). If you need to correct or re-submit a document, we will send you an email stating that you have a message in your Consular Electronic Applicant Center (CEAC) account. Return to https://ceac.state.gov/iv and click on the View Messages button to read our comments and instructions. To see whether documents are missing or need to be deleted and re-submitted, you should open these tabs: · Civil Documents · Affidavit of Support Documents and Financial Evidence You can also check the status of the items you submitted and your case in general in your CEAC account.” Hope this helps you
  20. I received an RFE from NVC for Police Certificates for Peru. We submitted only the Certificado de Antecedentes Policiales. What are the other 2 Certificates that we need?
  21. Nothing was missing. They are reviewing documents now. They just wanted me to go back and double check the list of required documents, to the ensure that I had submitted all of the financial and civil documents. No worries. I double checked and I had submitted everything. Now I wait while they make their review
  22. My Question was answered through CEAC Inquiry. It's strange because as soon as I posted here, about 3 hrs later I get an answer to my CEAC Inquiry. Submitting answer here just in case someone else has there same problem or question: The documents you submitted will be reviewed soon. We will let you know whether we complete your case or if we need more information. Current processing times are posted on our website at https://nvc.state.gov/timeframes (English) or https://nvc.state.gov/plazos (Spanish).
