12 March 2022: Received NoA with interview date. Interview scheduled for 14 April.

14 April 2022: Interview completed and approval received same day. We were told that the interview was required (despite us having a child together) because of the RFE. The RFE was because I missed a single check-box that it was not clear (at first) that I was supposed to check in the first place.

Consulate Review: Costa Rica
Review Topic: IR-1/CR-1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 5, 2018
Embassy Review : Anybody would be nervous under such circumstances, after waiting more than a year. But once there for our appointment... There was no wait for the first pass, which was the detailed review of documents. The first agent who attended is was perfectly bilingual with no accent in either language. All agents who helped/interviewed us were professional and courteous. The interview was mildly stressful, but I'm sure that was more about our own anxieties after all that build up and work to hey to that point. That said, the interviewer was patient and, of not exactly casual, was friendly enough, especially towards my stepdaughter.
Rating : Good

We were approved (both my wife and her 11yr old daughter)! Or Visas were delivered 2 days later, shockingly. I updated our timeline. Sorry it took so long.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
