Finally after almost 2 years of waiting for an interview, the Embassy in Ghana has received our case and we have our interview on 10-18th! I was wondering what information / documents will be provided , assuming he is approved. Will they request a SSN for him, he will be coming to the United States?  I was also wondering about his workers permit, I've found some information online but still not quite sure what we will still have to process after his entry. If anyone knows the steps on him actually becoming a US Citizen as well, we are an Ir1 so not sure if its different for every Visa class?

You might want to review the steps in the Guide here on the site.

If he is approved he will get a visa in his passport.  He will need to pay the fee to get the Green Card produced.  It will be in the handout he receives with his passport.  After he gets to the US then get an appointment at the local SSA office. He doesn't need the green card to work or travel since the VISA stamp acts as a green card for a year.   After 3 years he can apply for citizenship if he is still married to you.

Did he mark the ds 260 for USCIS to get the SS # for him?

When he enters at POE the officer stamps the visa with I 551 sentence allowing him to work as soon as he gets a job

if approved for this visa ,  its always a good idea to pay the green card fee before he leaves his country

Like Paul and Mary say "read the guides " as there is still a lot to understand

Don't want to be a downer, but wait until he's approved before worrying about getting here, focus on making sure he's ready for his interview, ask him questions as if your a consular, I don't know your back ground so I can't tell you if he would be ok, but good luck!

Did your husband get a email directly from The embassy to update police report and Tax papers before the interview?

No, we have not received anything from the Embassy, but we updated them anyways and uploaded to CEAC, the embassy however did respond to my email confirming they were uploaded and seen in there system.

It might not be as long as we all originally thought, my other group I'm a part in are March 2020 DQ'S and have received interviews in November.. It does seem like Accra is moving at a slow but steady pace, lets just pray they continue! Hang in there, you time will come😉
