2nd worst president in history.  Thanks Obama!

(And thanks to Joe for moving Obama down to #2)

Uh, Jimmy Carter, James Buchanan, & Woodrow Wilson are feeling rather left out right now.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Jimmy Carter was by far the worst. You may not be old enough to remember. So far I would say Biden is at a fast pace to unseat Carter from his throne.  Obama really did not screw up anything to badly still not saying he is not on the list somewhere. The Bergdahl deal still chaps my rear.

As for Clinton. In the rearview mirror, he was much better than he was in the windshield. I give him points for not involving us in a no win war.

You have to give GWB an honorable mention. He certainly got us in some long drawn out unnecessary military actions and contributed to the 08 housing meltdown.

The best of my life time was Reagan no doubt. Trump probably 2nd . If Trump had any communications skills he would have probably eclipsed Reagan

Yes, I got in a rush while typing.  Obama was intended for the first line, and Carter for the 2nd line.

I find it rather sad and demoralizing that one must seek sources such as SkyNews, AlJazeera news, etc. to get close to the truth of what is happening.

Wait, where is our resident source critiquing police officer?

Ok I forgot that one. He did kinda leave our boys hanging

I respect those who wore the uniform  but as absurd as these scenarios are, war is an imperfect weapon of statecraft and you will always have Mogadishu or a botched departure.  The feeling of what have been or should have been will always be there and redeploying always brings bitter feelings ( unless its the end of WW2) .  When we rev up for war, the deciders never consider what it will cost to come home, or they dont care.

I predict that 90 days for now Afghanistan will not be what Biden was judged on but how well the economy is doing and whether we need to wear a mask to go to Kroger's. History will not be kind on the subject to Biden, but war is an imperfect tool and he did get an exit ( I think we had to send more folks in) .  GW listening to the wrong voices on going to Iraq and Afghanistan which set us up for ambiguous objectives.  He farmed it out to the usual suspects, and they gave us the same old. A bigger concern is that the group think that got us to go and stay in Iraq, is still apart of our establishment.  The biggest winner from Afghanistan? General Dynamics, Boeing, Lockheed.

If it wasn't for a failed rotor on the rescue craft, Carter might have looked like the biggest hero for calling for the hostage rescue.  He also made headway in the Mideast.  He is probably our best ex-president in terms of demonstrating values and judgement.

As far as Trump and respecting military, he made his views known and I will take him at his word: He thinks those who volunteer are suckers. You go ahead and respect the man, I think he is toxic.

The reason the hostage rescue failed is because Carter was a famous Micro manager  who tried to run the whole operation.

Ifs and buts…. I have no respect for our current President, but do whatever you want.  He exited a 20 year activity that hasn’t been much of a war for the past 10 or so, giving up billions in military equipment, and now making it much more expensive to monitor the terrorists that are planning on making Afghanistan their new home base.  He singlehandedly put us back to a pre-911 stage which is appropriate given his history of foreign policy failures.  Of course we know how he feels about those that allied with us, just look at his speech regarding those that helped us in Vietnam, and he cares nothing for USCs here or abroad.  Now our staunchest allies will think twice whenever Old Joe and the Ivy League bunch come a calling, but hey, Trump was the worst.  We will see how this plays out, but out biggest adversaries are watching this play out with anticipation knowing Old Joe will not come to anyone’s defense.

Your first paragraph is spot-on.  We agree.

Second paragraph - Biden could have just followed Trump's plan and we COULD have been out of Afghanistan by May.  instead, he wanted to do things his own way, and end the operation around 9/11 to make a historic statement.  Well, he has made one alright.  And he will be remembered forever for it.  I do agree that we shouldn't have gone there, and the contractors ARE big winners.  And the US taxpayers are the biggest losers.  We have left behind BILLIONS and BILLIONS of dollars of equipment, both military and civilian.  Road graders, dump trucks, earth movers, rollers, packers, pavers.... think in terms of hundreds of each of those, just left there, even back in 2011.  More today, I am sure.

Third paragraph - are you referring to Operation Eagle Claw?  One helicopter had a blade problem (probably what you meant when you said rotor), one got disoriented and turned back, and one crashed into a C-130 as they were returning home after aborting the mission.  Not exactly Carter's fault.

Trump has far more respect for the military than Biden ever had, hands down.  You only believe what you do because of the lies told by the MSM last year.  But the people who were on the ground with Trump told a different story, even the ones who didn't like him.  Not saying he is a model person, nor presidential.  But he did more for America in 4 years than anyone else has in the past 20.  Minus the mean tweets, of course.
