Anyone pay the I-751 fee with a Visa DEBIT CARD as opposed to a regular CREDIT CARD?

I have credit cards but on occasion they get declined by the card issuing bank because they don't recognize the payee as some entity you've paid previously.  I would rather not take a chance with a straight up Credit card for this reason.  I haven't written a paper check in over 10 years and therefore, don't have any. Would prefer to not have to order a box of checks for a singular transaction.

The information on the USCIS website is confusing and all over the place: sometimes they say "Debit/Credit" then sometimes just "Credit"

Anyone have experience paying their filing fee with an actual DEBIT CARD?

Thanks in advance for any replies to this question.

Yes, a Debit card can be used to pay I-751 fee.

That is a potential issue (*albeit small chance of it happening) with both Debit and Credit cards.

Thank you, HRQX.

I just feel safer using my bank card which is a VISA debit/credit and can be processed as either. Although I don't know which way USCIS will process it.

Thank you, again for your very helpful response to my question.

Get money order or cashier's check. They charge a dollar for WU and I believe some banks, like mine, issues 2 free cashier's per day

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

I see no reason why a credit card cannot be used.

The first time you used a credit card means that it would not have been recognized previously. Was it declined then?

Some credit card companies may contact you based on the amount if you have never charged for that amount in the past.

Also,  just check with the credit card company.

Thanks RambaCat...that's exactly the information I was looking for. I have a Visa Debit Card that I would prefer to use over a standard credit card. Thank You!!

Thanks, Jakelake, for your kind reply to my question.

I would prefer to use my bank issued Visa Debit Card which would be extremely unlikely to be declined as the funds are coming straight from my checking account. I will notify them of this upcoming transaction in advance just to be safe. Full on Credit cards are more risky. I just had a mastercard declined from trying to buy groceries from walmart for no apparent reason other than I hadn't used it for that before. The card issuer later apologized for the decline, but that won't help if my card is declined by the USCIS.

Thanks again for your reply.

Use a personal check.

Thanks, Milimelo, for your reply to my question. Actually, I haven't written a paper check in over ten years. So, at the moment I don't have any. I pay all my bills online and use credit/debit cards for in-person transactions. Although following your thoughts, a paper check might be the less risky option. Thanks again for your reply to my concern.
