How did your trip go?

Sorry I forgot to come back and let everyone know.  I crossed at Sweet Grass/Coutts (MT/AB) and I got picked for a random Covid test, which you must administer yourself while a Red Cross person instructs you what to do.  If you get picked to do a test, don't open the box until you get up to where the testing is.  I needed to make an account with Switch Health in order to get your results.  Other than that, no problem I mean I gave over my test results letter and my passport and they ask all the same questions, where you going, how long, etc.

I have missed my Mom's dying and then her funeral and burial. Have not seen my daughter in almost 2 years now. I would like to go "home" to Canada for a visit. However, I am from Ontario and now there is going to be a "vaccine passport" required by folks in order to go to restaurants, bars etc. I cannot find anything about people who are visiting Ontario. Anyone else know about this?

It might depend if you are a dual citizen.  I know you can go there, but not sure what might happen with the vaccine passport.  Maybe call an MLA representing the area you are planning on visiting in Ontario and see if they can give you information.

I am a Canadian citizen.  My wife a US LPR.

We entered Canada at Coutts port of entry on September 22

We did our Covid tests at a cvs in California the morning of September 20 when we staetrd the road trip.  The tests weren’t ready until the afternoon of September 21.  Thus we had no way of printing them.  I had my kindle so the morning of September 22, assembled our Covid test results into a single PDF file and emailed to my kindle.  This way I didn’t have to hand my phone to CBSA.

I also did our ArriveCAN thing.

With just 2 cars ahead of us in line, Google maps warned us ahead of time it would be a 20 minute wait and it was.

The officer accepted our test results, and cdc vaccination cards.  He never asked for our ArriveCAN receipt.  He waived both the point of entry Covid test and the quarantine that ArriveCAN said we might have to do.
