If you will travel outside of US, then I've done this test in Walgreens for free of charge. If you are asking for the test to arrive US, then you should search the cost in the country it will be done.

Does anybody know the cost for pre-departure Covid testing to the US?

It is free in US as mentioned by above poster.

For Philippines, I do not know. But my best bet of getting it free is from the airline. Some airlines are doing the test before departure. Check with the airline that you booked. If there is a chance of getting it free, get it free. Do not pay.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

For Philippines it runs around 4500 pesos and has to be no more then 3 days before flight

Walgreens?  Great!!!   I have been wondering about this.

If you are specifically talking about departing the Philippines for the US, and if there is no additional requirement by any airline or transit country.  US will accept a rapid antigen test.  So a slow, expensive RT-PCR test is not required.  Last time my wife required one to depart Manila it was P1400 (~$28) and took about 20 minutes from this place https://www.internationalsps.com/covid-testing  They offer mobile service in metro Manila for P500 extra although my wife was fearful of spooking her neighbors by having a crew in hazmat suits show up at her condo so she went to their location.  There are also other options in Pasay and even at NAIA that also offer rapid antigen tests for similar pricing.

I got an appointment before going over though, and answer couple of questions. They get you an appointment if you have an upcoming international travel. Same with cvs... Not sure they let walk-ins, just fyi:)

Did they airlines ask to see the results?  How was the results given? Via email?

It's really only a paper you sign saying you had the test done 3 days and it was negative

When my wife flew out she was headed to Peru which had somewhat stricter testing requirements than the US.  The airlines are mainly the only ones checking but in Manila they get a bit overzealous scrutinizing every requirement.  The test site issued a paper certificate signed by a doctor and listing his licensing information.  The Philippines is moving towards having QR codes to authenticate all test results but that particular place didn't have that set up at the time.  US doesn't care at all they simply state you must show the airline a piece of paper that says "negative" on it.  No one on arrival in the US checks anything.

When I came from Cancun last month it was just a piece of paper we signed saying we tested negative.  I got my results online via my email, the hotel did the test.
