Portland should be fun this Summer.  With no riot squad, I imagine there will not be any more riots.

 

Portland PD riot control squad votes to resign after cop charged

 

The riot control team at the Portland police department decided to quit en masse after another cop was indicted for slugging a photographer. 

 

About 50 members of the Oregon department’s elite Rapid Response Team voted to resign at a union meeting Wednesday, days after the indictment of officer Corey Budworth over the Aug. 18 incident, Fox News said in a report Thursday.

 

“Unfortunately, this decorated public servant has been caught in the crossfire of agenda-driven city leaders and a politicized criminal justice system,” the Portland Police Association said in a statement earlier this week.

 

The RRT team members, who include detectives and sergeants, serve in the detail on a volunteer basis and “will continue in their regular assignments,” the Portland Police Bureau said in a statement Thursday.

Considering what's been going on in Portland for almost a year and a half, I don't think the mayor wants a riot control control squad.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

With the Democrat plans to defund the police, it might be a good idea for those in blue, particularly those that moonlight as personal protection for the Democrat politicians, to look for a new job.

Yes, there is a Democrat plan to defund the police.  We see it everyday by prominent leaders of that Party.  The fact that they have not published talking points for use by Party loyalist does not mean it is not true.
