we submitted an address change in early july and still no confirmation/answer…. we did it online. Do you know how long it might take?

The only "confirmation" we got was an email that said USCIS should give us a response by July 3rd or something but that never came, so I have no idea if they've yet to update our address. I called USCIS 3x and couldn't get past the robot Emma so at this point I'm in the dark whether the address change has gone thru. Just gonna keep submitting AR-11's every month lol.

Has anyone received any updates on their combo card after completing their bio appointment? If so, how long did it take? My bio appointment is Monday and hoping to receive my AP by mid-September, but I know this might be an unrealistic timeline.

The timeline for EAD/AP after BIO is completed is totally unpredictable. If you are lucky you might just get direct Interview scheduled notice in 2-3 weeks (again total prediction) but if your requirement is related to AP for travelling (as stated in question) you can always reach out to USCIS and they will help you to generate a temporary travel document for emergency travel while your AOS is in process. At least that's what I was told a while back with my interaction with them. Hope this helps.

It's taking about 9 months right now. Most people are getting their green cards before EAD/AP.... Or getting EAD weeks before their gc interview.

We've been waiting on an interview to be scheduled since July 20. Still no movement on this side. Will let you all know when we hear back.

That is so fast!!! I am waiting on biometrics.

I've read on redddit that many people are reporting that "interview ready to be scheduled" changes to "scheduled" within a month.

Fingers crossed you will get an update by August 20th!

Hi everyone! Just got my biometrics done today. But before they look my biometrics, there’s a hiccup. The lady told me that I have to change my foreign passport name to my current legal name (name changed after marriage). I didn’t know it was necessary because what I heard was that as long as I’m using the legal name I changed after marriage for my AOS application and everything else I should be fine.

So my question is, do I really have to change my foreign passport name to my legal name thay I have changed after marriage?

I changed my last name and they didn't say so. Of course, my passport bears my previous last name and I just took the marriage certificate as a proof of name change

That's what I did. I brought my marriage certificate at my biometrics appointment. But they lady said I should change my foreign passport name to my current legal name. So I'm not sure if I have to do it, cause I never heard about it changing passport name after marriage.

Did you change your passport name to your current legal name though?

Not possible because in my country this type of marriage is not allowed, therefore I don't think they will allow it.

In any case, don't mind it. Ifyou want to change it, go for it. But I don't think it's mandatory. At least I'd wait for the gc.

Although, changing your last name in your passport could be a proof of bona-fide, like if you see it from that perspective, maybe not a huge proof but still should count.

You don't have to do it. Maybe they told you that because it's easy here. But not in foreign countries hehe.

It's a hassle. Because then in your home country you have to change your legal name there for everything else, it's painful!
