Things must be moving a lot faster for the I-130

Interesting that this topic is getting traction again. I can confirm that the K-3 “trick” did indeed work in 2019. We filed February 2019 and were assigned to Nebraska and settled in for the long wait. Around May/June that year, I started seeing conversation relating to filing for the obsolete K-3 visa in order to cause your I-130 to be pulled and worked faster. Reasoning being, they can deny the K-3 if your I-130 is already approved. In July we filed, and it worked. I think it took about a month, and we were on to the NVC stage. 
 

However around October 2019 it seemed USCIS caught onto the sudden influx of K-3 petitions and stopped pulling cases out of line, so people stopped filing. Perhaps now that things have calmed down, they are going back to their usual operations, aka pulling cases out and sending them on if they get a K-3 request... 

 

And don’t let anyone shame you for “jumping the line.” Immigration is different for everyone, sometimes faster and sometimes slower at different points in history. Some people get faster service centers, or get lucky with wicked fast approvals in the NVC stage. If you’re willing to do the extra work for a chance of your spouse being here sooner, then why wouldn’t you? If I hadn’t taken the chance there is no way my husband would have made it here before COVID... in the end, his flight touched down nine days before the borders closed, and all in all even with the K-3 request speeding things up, the process took a full year.

When the processing timeline difference between I130 and I129F exceeds 90 days, and there is no hurry for a spouse to work until an EAD can be obtained, K3 is a valid option.

 

We are in that window.  I would not be surprised if the K3 path is dusted off and comes back to life.  It was meant for USC immediate relatives to bypass other immigrant visa categories.

I applied for k-3 with my I-130 petition, and I received the receipt letter for the I-129F form. I’m going to have my petitions expedited.

I have filed form I-129F for K3 but haven't received any notice or letter yet, I mailed it on 8th April and delivered in 3 days but still waiting for receipt notice.

Give it a month. I mailed mine in on feb 26. My priority date is March 23, and I received my first letter on April 8th.

You say u r going to have ur case expedited. There are no guarantees on expedite approval. Most dont get approved and the ones that do usually take multiple times. We all need our spouses with us.

Calm down. I was just saying from experience, dont get ur hopes up. I tried 4 times and finally got expedited from NVC to Embassy for interview. Took almost a year of trying.  I hope u get it. I hope everyone gets through fast, but its just not that easy.

Employment authorization.  On a K3 you adjust status like K1, part of that is applying for employment authorization.  No SS card until you get that approved.  K3 used to be (and may become) quicker but it has downsides
