Visa Bulletin moved  2 months F2B All Chargeablity areas! Just became current.

This is a major milestone for me personally waited years...mum petitioned me and my brother unfortunately we lost him during covid we were eagerly awaiting together for this day so it's really emotional for me. Not there yet but we celebrate the small wins.

My PD is 25th May 2016 DQ 28th June 2021 Embassy Nairobi Kenya, well aware of someone, same embassy almost Identical dates (PD 19th May 2016 DQ 2nd Aug who already went to the Embassy for their Interview) So Id expect my Interview Letter to be around the corner too! Hope this little bit of info helps someone as I know info is scarce on the internet. Il keep you guys posted.

Finally, some more movement and that's awesome you are now current! Definitely keep us update and hopefully you have your interview soon.

I wonder why they haven't moved the filing action date yet. There's only ~ 5 1/2 months between filing date and final action date now.

Very interesting! I suspect there is really high demand for this category. Looking at F1, the filing date overtook F2B long time ago and it's currently months ahead. The Final action date has also been making rapid movements since and currently is at March 2016. I wonder if it would be wise for F2B applicants to start pondering switching categories??

Yes, for some it may make sense to switch categories. You may be able to file sooner if you do switch to F1, but if you will get approved sooner is the unanswerable question.

Hey folks - Anyone knows (with your experience) that your i-13- F2B file (case) has been sent to ELIS - Electronic Immigration System - What does that mean in timeline sense - it is going to take faster or will it take longer to process the application. Please give us your input if you guys know.

It makes no difference at all. All cases are gradually being made electronic.

I have a very specific question about a situation which is: On form i-130 petition for my Canadian Born Child lives in the city of Toronto - When I was filing this (i-130) Petition - I was under the impression that US Consulate in Toronto Canada processes Green card Interviews (So on 1-130 - I entered US consulate TORONTO as the destination for all documents) - Incidentally, later on, I had to change my own USA address & My Childs address in Toronto Canada - naturally, I informed USCIS by certified mail & sent a copy of that letter to Toronto US Consulate - They (Toronto consulate) called me to inform that "US Consulate Toronto does not do Green Card Interviews - but US Consulate Montreal is the location - you should inform them" - Consequently, I sent US Consulate in Montreal a registered letter. My Question is that should I write to USCIS that that the destination of my (1-130 docs) for GC interview is Montreal & not Toronto as I (mistakenly) put on my petition Form i-130 when I filed that petition in 2017 . Will Appreciate your feedback - Thanks in Advance

My apiologies for a long text in this email - wanted to present whole scenario for folks to understand my ask.

I think you will still have an opportunity to change this and any other details in the forms coming up ahead at the NVC stage of your case (Form DS260). I also believe NVC is well aware of where to send your child for your specific Immigrant Visa, when that time comes.

It's crazy that they still haven't moved the filing action date. There's only about 3.5 months between filing action and final action date.

Probably meaning there is sufficient F2B visa demand this Fiscal Year. I suspect the dates for filing will be moved rapidly the next FY.

It's interesting how they've significantly moved the VB this month yet for people like me who became current in March, with early DQ dates (June 2021), still haven't received ILs. Just shows you how hard it is to predict these timelines.

Look at this real case for example;

Embassy; Nairobi

PD: 19th May 2016

DQ: 1st August 2021

Case became current: 10th Dec 2024

Received 60 days email: 13th Dec 2024

Interview Letter received: 1st Jan 2025

Interview Date: 25th Feb 2025

(Visa was issued and applicant has since travelled and is awaiting SSN and Greencard)

My case:

Embassy: Nairobi

PD: 25th May 2016

DQ: 28th June 2021

Case became current: 10th Mar 2025

Received 60 days email: 13th Mar 2025

(Still awaiting Interview Letter)

I think I remember F2A having a Filing Action date but current Priority Date. Quite bonkers.

Shows you they documentarily qualified too many people before they can issue visas.

Yes, it is definitely hard to tell what is going on. Different embassies prioritize different things, and then there's the randomness/luck aspect as well. That's an interesting real-life example.

By the way, what is the 60 day email you reference?

It's an automated notification/email from NVC right after your case becomes current on the VB that informs the applicant and petitioner that they are aware the case is in line for an interview and that they are working to schedule it within the next 60 days. Usually after the 60 days elapse without them scheduling an Interview at the embassy, another exact message is sent just informing you that they are still working with the embassy to schedule the interview. Infact, 60 days just elapsed since they sent me that first message and I just received that second email today. So the wait continues...

I’m a bit confused about changing my category from F2B to F1 since my parents became citizens, chart B is not moving for F2B, If I switch to F1 I can start processing my case( got case number, PDAug17) although chart A is faster for F2B. What you guys think?
