  1. June 2024 Visa Bulletin is out. No movement this month. Not too surprising with how much it moved last month.
  2. And Charlie Oppenheim is predicting steady (perhaps even rapid) movement in all family categories between now and september. Let's all stay positive!
  3. Nice! That's now two months in a row that Dominican Republic received a lower, more reasonable amount of visas.
  4. I don't think it matters, but how is it possible you haven't had your interview scheduled yet? You've had a PD that's been current for awhile. Also, unrelated and for those interested, USCIS has released more info on last years visa numbers. Check it out at below link: https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/Immigrant-Statistics/WaitingList/WaitingListItem_2023_vF.pdf
  5. May Visa Bulletin is out! Final action date moved to April 1 2016! https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/visa-law0/visa-bulletin/2024/visa-bulletin-for-may-2024.html
  6. I have no idea how they calculated this number, but I found this on the National Immigration Forum. If these numbers are the correct ones than none of the above countries in previous post actually exceeded their limit:
  7. Seems like for the rest of FY 2024 based on this: The above final action date projections for the Family and Employment categories indicate what is likely to happen throughout Quarter Three and Quarter Four of FY24.
  8. April Visa Bulletin is out, no movement this time. Though there was this at the bottom: E. VISA AVAILABILITY IN THE COMING MONTHS FAMILY-sponsored categories (potential movement): Worldwide dates: F1: Up to three months F2A (excluding Mexico): Up to six months F2B: Up to ten weeks F3: Several months F4: Up to four weeks
  9. Do these numbers include the second preference that is exempt from country limitations?
  10. March Visa Bulletin is out and we got significant movement! Final Action date moved to Nov. 22nd 2015. That's almost two months forward from last visa bulletin.
  11. Very disappointing since it moved so little last time. Hopefully next month we get better news.
  12. Where did you get the amount of unused family visas for 2023? I didn't think we had that info yet. Even if immigration lawyers made noise, it would be useless as Congress would need change the law and right now they can't agree on anything immigration related.
  13. I see it as a positive because it should mean they have gotten through the Covid backlog, and that means we should start to see more steady movement. It also seems they are being very conservative with moving it forward. We will have a better idea in the coming months.
  14. We have to remember the monthly reports aren't accurate. There's a disclaimer because DR cannot get more visas than legally allowed. WE need to wait for the annual report which should be out soon to get a true idea.:
  15. August 2023 Visa Issuances has been published. Dominican Republic received 1330 F2B visas for that month.
  16. F1 final action didn't move in the October Bulletin either, and F2B is still a few months ahead, but it is up to you to decide.
  17. The backlog numbers are interesting, but since it is for all categories, it's not super helpful to figure out where we are with F2B.
  18. It's 7% of Total Family Visas not 7% of the F2B. If DR consulate wants to use a good portion of their visas on F2B they can. And they only can if all those applicants have a PD before the final action date. The number of DR visas isn't that strange. if we assume around ~7000 visas should have been give to DR in 2020,2021, 2022 then there is a backlog of around 11,300 people from those three years alone. That number isn't that far off from the number they've received so far this year.
  19. I wanted to point out that Dominican Republic has always had a large portion of F2B. I looked up past few years before Covid and these were their F2B totals: 2019: 8,195 2018: 10,741 2017: 7,734 2016: 6,832 2015: 8,243 So this isn't something new that popped up recently, so theoretically that means DR is not the sole reason for no movement. I wish USCIS published the amount of applicants with PD before the final action date for F2B. That data point would be helpful.
  20. I know, but this has happened before with no movement in October with good movement other months (pre covid era). At some point they have to get through the COVID backlog...whether it's in a few months or in a year - but it will happen.
  21. Depressing news, but that doesn't mean it won't move in the following months.
  22. No worries. Actually the user was just saying they received an interview (not visa), and I am hoping that is a good sign that they are planning on advancing the visa bulletin.
  23. it doesn't matter if you are inside the US or outside the US. Same rules apply for when you get your green card. If you are inside the US, you can apply for EAD and AP once you are eligible to submit AOS - but that's the only difference.
  24. Final action date is still Sept 2015. You have not been skipped. There's just been no movement for 2 years.
