Case Complete (DQ) to Interview April 2021

I have heard that this month not many CR1/IR1 were scheduled for interview because embassies started scheduling IR5’s which have been banned from June 2020 until recently. Since I guess IR5 are the same priority as IR1/CR1, embassies might be scheduling mostly the IR5 category until their DQ dates catch up to CR1/IR1.* If that’s the case it could still be a couple more slow months for CR1/IR1 at embassies that were already doing later DQ dates.

This is speculation but it made sense when I heard it from someone else. I’m tacking on a couple more months to when I was expecting an interview date anyway. Idk if anyone knows more about this and can speak to it, cause I’m just trying to make sense of it with my limited knowledge.

*Not complaining about IR5 that’s great they can finally have some progress. Just making an observation on what might be happening for CR1/IR1 scheduling.

Mto Obrigado!

Thank you so much! Yes! Finally! We’ve been working in all that needs to be done prior the interview.  We have to update some of the documents because it’s been more than a year.

The embassies are resuming visa scheduling little by little... is happening. You all should be getting your appointment letter soon!

I've waiting for my interview scheduled for two weeks. People say they got the notice one week after DQ so I asked NVC and the embassy in Tokyo but they gave me meaningless responses

I'm not sure where you're getting the one week info from, but a quick glance at recent cases from Japan on the spreadsheet linked at the start of the thread shows everything from one week to two months between the case complete date and the interview being scheduled.

There are people in this thread who have been waiting for an interview for over a year. If things are going faster in Japan, consider yourself fortunate, but it's important to have patience no matter what your situation.

Thanks for the info! I’ve got the info on the twitter, many Japanese updated their nvc timeline there.

1 year is terrible... Yeah I will be patient then

19 months waiting for an interview since our NVC case closed... never even imagined it would take this long when we first started out...

fun thought - how this will all boil down to 5 minutes of questioning

Unfortunately Mexico was already 1 year behind before COVID. But you are at 19 months so soon for you any day now. Hang in there.
