Removal of Conditions (2yr GC to 10yr GC) Process

I know you can file for Removal of Conditions beginning 90 days before the card expires to go from the 2-year to the 10-year green card. Do you not get the 10-year card before the existing one expires? How long does it generally take to receive the 10-year card?

No! In looking at the post from December 2020 I751 filers and before. The green card has expired before they have even gotten their NOA1 letters. It seems to be taken longer due to the pandemic and could take 4-6 weeks ( or longer) to get your NOA1 letter. NOA1 letter automatically gives you an extention for 18 months. I have a friend who received there 10 year green card a year after they applied. It is just a waiting game once you file. Are window has opened so we are just collecting documetation so we can file as soon as possible.

We filed my wife's I-751 in March of 2019.  The status has been "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" since May of 2019......that's right......almost 2 years.

To be fair, I think most are faster......especially, if there was an AOS interview done before.

Does USCIS schedule the interview or are you supposed to go online and schedule it yourself? I seem to recall that during the K-1 process I had to go online and schedule my spouse's embassy interview.

Are you guys going to go ahead and file for the naturalization to get a combo interview? That is way too long of a wait for ROC.

No.  Due to my forgetfulness, I failed to bring my wife's original divorce decree from Taiwan.  We are planning to retrieve an original on our next trip over there.  At this point, my wife is fine waiting until the 5 year mark to file her N-400....which will be in about a year.

It is just a waiting game at that point. Check out the threads from pervious months. Some have said their driver's license have expired and they can not renew until they receive the NOA1. You also cannot travel outside of the country w/o it as well.
