US Embassy in Moscow - Still Closed

Based on the Embassy website, it looks like the only visas they are processing right now are:

I'm not entirely sure why the C1D (crewmember) or F (student) visas are being prioritized. Seems like a very random choice. Maybe because it's a "renewal" that doesn't require an interview? Still seems random to me.

I'm also afraid of the closing of the other consulates.

and How much of an impact it will have.  Once things do open,  not to mention the prejudice, (in my opinion,) the incoming admin has to Russia.

Is your wife going via the Moscow Embassy or the one in Tajikistan?

Moscow!

  Tajikistan's embassy does not issue immigration visas.  Those are "supposed" to be handled by the embassy in Almaty, Kazakhstan.  She does't want to go there again as she said they were not nice and denied her when we tried K1 in 2017/2018, stating not enough proof of, "Valid relationship."

  So we went with plan B got married in Russia, not the easiest thing since neither of us are Russian citizens.  

Right now we are at the NVC stage awaiting approval of the Police Clearance from Tajikistan.  The first one was rejected, because it was from a regional office not the capital. Our lawyer submitted the correct form on the 28th still waiting for the response.  A slight good note the Daughters are "DQ!"  Then we will be in the holding pattern as everyone else.

Yes!  GOD willing!  I really appreciate this site, it has helped on many occasions.  She wants me to be there this time for interviews.  When she had the interview in Almaty my work wouldn't let me go because others were on vacation.  I have informed them this time when we get interviews scheduled I am going one way or another.

Wishing you best of luck! The Moscow Embassy usually almost always approves spousal visas.

I read in an article that the US employees will be moved to Moscow if they close the Consulates which would hopefully get them back on track faster

It's odd because the Consulates never did K-1's or spousal visas to begin with (only the Embassy did), but if they do move in more people over that would be great news. They need to address the growing backlog for sure.
