Can anyone share with me how long it took for them to receive approval of their Green card after the application was received by USCIS? We are over 5 months now and still no word. My wife is Canadian. I was living in Canada at the time with her when we filed but have since moved back to the States.

Go to the USCIS website, and find your local field office processing times. You can enter your zip code to find your office and see the processing times. Since your in Ohio ( My home state) I know a few people that have done green card applications there, and back before covid you could get an interview in 3-4 months, now I would expect it to be over a year to interview, if not longer. I'll post a link if i can for the USCIS website.

You have posted this in the immigrant visa section but your question sounds like an adjustment of status. Please clarify what you are doing as the timelines, etc will vary considerably.

Timeline in brief:

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

This is not an adjustment of status. My wife is living in Canada and I am in The States. We filed for her green card last June when I was living there.

Then you filed a petition for her immigrant visa, not a green card. It will become a green card upon arrival but it’s a different process (with completely different timescales) than applying for a green card within the USA.

There was no option to enter zip code to get the service center for me

Loren mentioned Zip Code because he thought you were talking about adjustment of status. Instead, look at the I-130 receipt notice for the Service Center. But that will only show you I-130 processing time. After I-130 approval, there are more steps.

You should read the guide for an overview of the process.

You already filled out your timeline, at the bottom you'll have your answer.

It's a lot longer than 5 months if your service center is correct.

In general 5 months is within processing time.

You petitioned her for an immigrant visa, you did not apply for adjustment of status.  You can find out current marriage-based petition processing times for the service center your petition is at (i.e. Potomac, Texas, Nebraska etc) on USCIS.gov.

Your service center is printed on your receipt notice (NOA1).
