I got our case number today. It's easier calling them in the evening, shorter wait time and friendlier customer service reps. Between 7 and 8pm.

Eastern time?

@0NI @PatLuvO I'm just going to wait to hear when you guys get your case numbers then start contacting them about a week later.

0NI, I also did a online inquiry asking them to update our e-mail addresses, and I'm sure I got the same auto-response. It had stated that if my NOA2 was before the date that they were creating files for per their timeframes website, that I could scan in the NOA2 and send it to their NVCResearch e-mail so they could request it from the USCIS, which I did last week... that resulted in yet another auto-response that stated they got my "inquiry", database indicates they have not recieved the file yet from the USCIS, and that it takes 30 days (and up to 60 days because of COVID 😲) for it to come from the USCIS. Nothing about requesting the case. I guess they are trekking all those cases by foot from California to New Hampshire and hand delivering them. 😂 Soooo... I'm just going to sit back and wait until you guys have heard. 🤷‍♀️

lol I know right. We will be calling on Wednesday. Hopefully we get our case number.

So... I apparently have no chill since being moved to night shift at work, and I wasn't doing anything at 4am (Pacific Time here)... soooo, I went ahead and called the NVC to check to see if I got any different answer. :P I was told that they received our case on 11/27/2020 and that currently they were creating files for cases that were received on the 20th, which I am totally okay with. Kind of curious how in the previous e-mail I got back from them yesterday stated they had not received it yet... but I digress. They have our case, that's all that matters.

Files can be in the building yet to be entered into the system. Hours later someone enters your record into the system when another employee who is responsible to assign case numbers then applies your number to your case [hours or weeks later]. Somewhere in between the person who accepted your call could see that it was "in the system" and not sitting awaiting entry. Constable Watson is on to something here. ;)

I wrote a PDF file that lists all the steps and contacts and emails and snail mails and telephone numbers. You'll find the PDF link on the first page of this thread. Instructions are in there on how to get the case number.
